My husband is so understanding as we do our genealogy, plus stopping at cemeteries to fulfill photo requests for other people.|
If you find any errors, want additional information or an obituary added, please send it through the edit tab on the memorial and I will revise &/or add the information. Since many volunteers create memorials that aren't relatives, it makes it much easier if we don't have to go "hunting" for the memorial you are referring to.
IF YOU REQUEST A TRANSFER, BE SURE YOU ARE COMMITTED TO A LIFETIME OF MAINTAINING THE MEMORIAL. UNFORTUNATELY A FEW OF MY OLDER TRANSFERS ARE MAINTAINED BY CONTRIBUTORS WHO NO LONGER RESPOND.
EDITS SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE THE SOURCE.
A BIG thank you to all of the fellow findagravers that add my suggestions, and, especially, the obits so that many individuals can benefit from them on their search.
Please consider any pictures that I have taken as yours...I am the messenger and believe that they belong to the family.
What kind of photos may be added to a memorial page?
You may add a grave photo of the headstone or a portrait photo containing the memorialized. Do not add photos of the cemetery gate to the memorial but instead add them to the cemetery's page. If a cemetery photo has been designated by admin to serve as the default photo to appear on individual memorial pages in that cemetery, it will appear automatically. Not all cemeteries have a default photo designated. There is a limit of 5 photos for non-famous memorials that have not been sponsored. Sponsored memorials may have up to 20 photos. Any contributor can upload an appropriate photo to any memorial regardless of who manages the page. No permission from the memorial manager is needed. However, if there is already a photo of the headstone, do not add a second similar photo unless the original is of poor quality and the new photo is dramatically better. This leaves room for photos of the deceased within the five-photo limit on unsponsored memorials. Please note that it is not appropriate to delete a page and substitute it with a new memorial that you have created just because you don't like a photo that someone else has added. If the photo is an appropriate addition to the memorial, it will be allowed to remain.
****If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to maintain the records please transfer your records to someone who has an active account and willing to take over the records. I am one of many willing to take over records. This really will help reduce duplicates. It would also be a good idea to leave someone instructions on how to do make these transfers should you go inactive without warning.***** Thank You
My philosophy; "No One Should Be Forgotten".

You are welcome. I read your profile page and I knew I could trust you to manage her memorial.

The cemetery has a record of her burial, there's just no grave marker or headstone.
|John M. Crandall||David Marion Pope|
I am trying to find if my grt uncle David Marion Pope(27 Apr 1846-4 Sept 1917) is actually interred in Oak Gove Cemetery. I have found 2 memorials for him with one listing him buried at Oak Grove and the other non-cemetery burial. According to info I have seen David died in Knoxville, Marion, IA. Although his 1st wife Emmarilles Throckmorton Carle Pope(1845-1892) is buried in Oak Grove I find it hard to understand why they would transport him so far for burial. When he died he was either still married to his 2nd wife & mother-in-law Margaret Jane Welcher(1826-1919) or they had divorced before his death. I don't know if you will get back to me or not but I will check find a grave periodically to see if you have. John
|Karen Doss||Requested change to Emeline Wolf's last name|
Peggy I changed Emeline's last name to Wolf instead of Wolfe per your request. On her marriage certificate her name was spelled Emaline Wolf, and Joseph Burket was spelled with one t as well as his Father's name Abraham Burket. It has been very hard for me to research Emaline. I am not finding very much information regarding her birth, her father or her mother. I think I have hit a brick wall. Thank you for all you do for the Find a Grave Website you are very knowledgeable in genealogy and I appreciate all the help you have given me with my family.
|Ron Harlan||Nebraska pioneers|
The book is entitled Illustrated History of Nebraska by Julius Sterling Morton(Arbor Day founder), Albert Watkins and George L. Miller. I appreciate your diligence and to strive for accuracy. Sadly not everyone is the same. A contributor rushed to do my mom's site and has her buried in the wrong cemetery plus married a man not her husband. He used the obituary I wrote snd despite requests refuses to take it down. Thanks for your hard work you manage a lot of memorials.
|Sharla Cerra||RE: Thanks|
Peggy, Luella posts all the obits as she finds them, or sends to whoever manages the memorial with a request that they add it.
If you have other memorials in Table Rock, you can ask Luella to check out the obits for you if there is a date of death with month and day. Our newspaper pdfs are not indexed, so if there is only a year, it would be too time intensive.
I have pages on the Table Rock Historical Society website that include pictures and obits but for the most part they are duplicative. They are just another way of preserving that information. Here is the main page for the cemetery:
|Sandra (Curry) Brink||RE: Hattie A. Burgette Memorial # 46196634|
Hattie was the 2nd wife of my great great grandfather Elisha Rolly Curry. Her son Rolla was the great grandfather of a distant cousin Bonnie Groves Newell. Her mother was Rolla's granddaughter and she provided me with some of my information. The 1900 US Census of Nebraska,
Thayer County, Chester Precinct date June 4, 1900, line 39 shows that Rolla and both his parents were born in New York.

Norman's obit was in the Omaha Daily Bee, 05 Jan 1910, Wed, Page 2. It did not mention his parents.

I am under obligations to him from a transcript of Milford Church records, very useful in comparing; and under very great obligations to his father-in-law, Mr. Strong who kindly conveyed to me and introduced me to the Baldwin resident in various parts of Milford.
