I have been interested in my family heritage since I was a young child. I remember asking my grandmothers to "write down the names" Thankfully, they did and I had no idea just how many names there would be :-) I have been compiling and researching all those names for years. I am so thankful for this website. I now have a place to put all the pictures and newspaper clippings my grandmothers saved. I hope they can benefit other family members who may be searching their roots.|

|Ruth Yancey||Mary Jane Cook Yancey|
I noticed that you added the headstone photo for Mary Jane Cook Yancey, wife of Francis Marion Yancey, Sr. They are buried at Brightstar Cemetery in Douglasville, GA. I think that is correct. Anyway, is she your ancestor? If so, do you have an exact date of death for her?
Francis Marion Yancey is the brother of my 3rd great-grandfather, John Baxter Yancey.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
|Richard Bull||John A. Bull|
Found a grave photo of John Alexander Bull with bio from Ron Lairamore that stated he was first born of John and Martha Bull. In my research the John Bull in the photo was 36 y/o born in the year 1827 not 1837 and born in New York not Texas, data from the Illinois State Archives. Therefore the two John Bull are not one in the same unless you have documentation to contrary. I do agree in your bio of your GGG Martha J. Bull. Also I recall my father, Robert Allen Bull, having favorable memories of your GG, Aunt Polly. However I do not remember specific comments. Additionally I found your GG father (Polly's husband) William Vinyard Gann was a Union soldier 1st Arkansas Infantry along with Polly's brother Edward J. Bull. Any additional info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Richard Murlin Bull, father: Robert A. Bull, G father: Frederick Bull, GG father: Allen Bull, GGG father: John Bull

Thanks Cathy. I have changed it. I'm doing okay, and busy helping with my grandchildren. I've had some health problems, but I'm an tough so I am better now. Are you on Facebook? I'm under Donna Mari Shook Chapman. I'd love to keep up with you
|Linda McGahan||Pearl Yancy Trickett|
I transferred Pearl to you. She is your family not mine so you should have management.
The family photo's were very nice.

I followed links on Ancestry.com to get to your information here. I believe this person you have posted information about may be my paternal great-grandfather, but I'm not sure because I had no idea that he was a preacher! It looks as if he may have been a lodge member of some sort, which might make sense, as I am told my grandfather (his son, Charles B Yancey) was a Mason.
I did some family research a few years ago but lost interest, and would like to start digging again, now that I have more time on my hands. Do you have a public family tree (I think that's what they're called?) on Ancestry.com that I could reference?
Thank you for your time.
Jane (Yancey) Almquist

Hi Cathy , Thank you so much for getting back to me!! So we are related because James " Jesse " was my dads grandfather and that makes him my great grandfather :)We didn't get to know our dads side of the family due to my parents splitting up . Grandma Opal lived in California and we lived in New Jersey . She came to visit once when I was very young . I went to visit her in Cali when I was in my twenties . Never met any of her siblings or anyone in her family . Do you have any photos of the Longs ? I recently went to California and saw my aunt Grandma Opals youngest child and she gave me some photos of Opal with her siblings . Do we have Indian in us ? Aunt Hester Lee looks like she does ? I would love to talk more and share with you what I have found on the Long's :) Please stay in touch !! I guess we are cousins ? Sincerely , Debbie
|Debbie Carpenter||Henry Clay Long|
Hello Cathy , My name is Debbie Capps Carpenter and I am doing research on my father for a family scrapbook I am making . My fathers mothers maiden name was Long . Her father was James "Jesse" Long and his father was Henry Clay Long . James Jesse was born on Jan.25th, 1882 to Henry Clay Long and I can't find who his mother is ? According to a list my grandmother wrote her father had 8 siblings : Wilson ,Charles, Sarah, Amanda, Andrew,Mattie, Juley, and Tomas . She also has Henry Clay's birth as Aug, 13th , 1853. For some reason I can't seem to match James Jesse with Henry ? I did find all the other siblings. My grandma's name is Opal Virginia Long . I was hoping maybe you could help me if this is the same Henry Clay Long :) You can message me here . Thanks so much in advance for any help you can give me !! Sincerely , Debbie Capps Carpenter

|GPSP||Mary Ann Riddlespurger Yancey|
Hello, I have Mary Ann's surname as Smith on my ancestry.com tree - I got this info from other trees. Do you know if she was married previous to marrying Wesley Yancey? Wesley is a direct ancestor of mine and would love to know more about Mary Ann. Thanks very much and kudos to you for all your wonderful findagrave work!
