Mr. Badger Hawkeye
Catherine Maynard #48157513

I just checked out the other memorial page for her and it states that her memorial was moved to Mount Olivet Cemetery from Third Street Cemetery in the 1940s.

Yours Truly,
LeRoy A.

Kevin Murphy
Rose Todd DOB
There is a conflict in the data. In these cases I usually go with what is on the grave stone. That would put her DOB somewhere around 1793,

Abraham Melick Page
Thank you so much for adding that descendancy page for Abraham Melick to his memorial! That was the final link I needed! I had been tracking my DNA matches on and knew all the way up to Elizabeth Melick who married William Courter, but the knowledge of her parents was lost. I was able to piece her parents together based on DNA triangulation; finding common ancestors with people we share DNA with, but this document confirmed my findings! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hi, The monument in St. John's Lutheran in St. Donatus is correct. I photographed both cemeteries so I know who goes where. There was a huge mix up years ago because there are Two St. John's Lutheran Churches within 10 miles of each other. Gary Scoggin is aware of the mix up and has been asked to remove the incorrect memorial(s) but has declined to do so. There are probably 50 more that are duplicates with the same issue. I straightened this out years ago with Gary but to no avail.

Louis if you check Leslies page you will see Mrs. Meier wrote to her on 4/29/2017 telling the problem. I told her she had the incorrect cemetery. Seems a long time ago June 4th and no action. Difference between St Peters Richfield and St Peters Eldorado is several miles ( could be from out of state). I will gladly delete if she does her part. Mrs. Meier

Hello Louis
you added a headstone photo to her memorial.
She is my 3G-grandmother, and would very much like to use the photo for my personal use.
May I copy it, and of course credit you on the photo.
Thank you for all your contributions to Find A Grave.

RE: Family connection
Ok, that helps with the family connection. Yes, I just saw Ida last summer, and we are currently doing DNA testing on her to post to our family website! It will be interesting to see if it generates any new info.

I've been doing family genealogy just since 2009. Only lately have I started to include people beyond my direct blood line. I'm concentrating on Tama County, which is where most all of them are. I'm trying to connect people/families where I previously didn't realize there was a connection. As Michael Sevcik always says, everyone in Tama County is related at some point! The nice thing about Czechs is they have tended to marry each other and settle together. I visited east Bohemia a couple years ago and saw the little villages where the majority of ancestors are from. It was amazing!

I was at the Tama County Museum last summer and got some information that I was looking for. I'm sure there's a plethora of information there that would be interesting. I'm more of an armchair computer genealogist who benefits from people like you who do the real work.

Do you live in the Marshalltown area?

Family connection
We apparently have many family connections in common... are you related to the John Salasek family, and if so, how? # 50045707

He is my great great grandfather.

I'm fascinated and impressed with the number of contributions you have made to FindAGrave. How have you found so many photos and so much information? I thought I had a lot on our Salasek family website on MyHeritage, but it pales in comparison to what you have.

Thank you for all you've done to preserve the history of so many families. It's truly appreciated.
