Greetings,

My name is Sherry and I discovered genealogy because of a very sad time in my life, the loss of my mother in 2005.

I inherited some paperwork from her things that was passed down to her from her mother and father. Upon going through the paperwork, it opened up many questions for me. Who were these people who were my family, but I knew nothing about? I also discovered that by jumping into these family mysteries, my mind stayed busy and distracted so that dealing with my grief was made somewhat easier.

Well here I am many years later, and not only have I discovered my family roots, but I also delved head on into my husband's roots as well.

I have learned so much about not only both our families history, but about history in general. And I have also met so many nice people and distant family, that I would not have ever met if it had not been for becoming a genealogy researcher. I found that it has become my hobby and a passion of discovery, sorta like a treasure hunt everyday. My journey over the years has opened me up to many possibilities and has taught me to appreciate the most precious gift the Lord has blessed us with, the gift of LIFE!

So the saying that goes like this "When one door closes, another one opens" was found to be very true in my life. Many have opened up for me!

My family surnames are:
Flowers, King, Griffith, Oglesby, Norris, Kittrell, French, Bedsole, English, Johnson, Simmons

My husband's family surnames are:
Suarez, Antone, Bloodsworth, Franklin, Morris, Forbes, Hollinger, Stewart, Snowden, Dees

Mvto and God bless!
