As a family genealogist, I know the importance of finding and receiving documentation of resting places, names, dates of birth and death for ancestors. Find A Grave is an amazing concept and I thank the founders for having such a great idea and for putting it in motion for the benefit of all. People who ask for photos, and I fulfill them, may use the photos in their research. I appreciate those who have fulfilled my requests and have gone beyond any expectation in gathering Obits, newspaper clips, etc. If I have set up a memorial page for a direct line person in your family, within Find A Grave criteria, please ask by using the edit button, and I will transfer them to your loving care. Thanks to all who are so generous.|

|Donald Rivard||Seth Norton/ John Hall|
Greetings, I am researching my wife's ancestry and noticed you are the creator of the find a grave page and are also related to Seth Norton. My wife is a twice direct descendant of Seth Norton. Once through his son Elihu and also through his daughter Amy. I have visited his grave in Jonesport, Maine.
Where I need help is with information on Capt John Hall. My wife was a Hall and a direct descendant of John. John Hall also live on the upper east side of Addison, traveled to Machias with a group from Pleasant River Plantation and participated in the taking of the Margaretta. Seths son Elihu was a private in Capt John Halls Company in the Lincoln county militia. He was married to Grace Sprague. We have not been able to find a grave for either one of them. We know where all his children are buried, mostly in the Addison Maine area. They were not a poor family nor where his children so It's not that headstones were not affordable. They died in Addison and with many kinsman around there would be no need to be transported somewhere else. Thought you maybe able to help or perhaps the Shaun Smith you mentioned in your description may have some info. If you could put me in touch with him I would appreciate it.
Meanwhile, if there is anything I can help you with please ask. I have done quite a bit of research in the area but have a ways to go yet.
Sorry for being long winded, thanks

I made the transfers since we are not related. Happy 4th!
|Philip Weiss||Faith Downing|
I see you requested a photo of Faith Downing's marker. There are a couple photos of the marker on the web. Since I didn't take the photos, I can't upload them to Find A Grave. However, if you are looking for them for personal use, you can find them here:
It looks like someone appropriated some of the photos from the second site and uploaded them to Find A Grave for other Downings.
Anyway, I how this helps.

Thank you for responding. I hope the contact you made will follow through.
I hate it when that happens! You gotta love technology, when it works right. :)

Thanks, hope your recovery is going well. It is a good reminder that life gets in the way of genealogy! I'll review my notes tomorrow and reply.
