Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Oregon and started my genealogy hobby in 1976. That lasted for less than a year, and then I started again in the winter of 1998.

"The Final Act Of Love Is To Remember."

Family surnames:
Direct Paternal: Fenter, Hardage (Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri), 1800's. Collateral Paternal: Allen, Bray, Cain, Doudy/Dawdy, Hardage, Hughes, Tanner.
Direct Maternal: Campbell, Steele (Kansas, Missouri, North & South Carolina, Pennsylvania), 1800's. Collateral Maternal: Anderson, Bailey, Chamberlin, Cook/Koch, Cordon, Drake, Duff, Hart, Hillhouse, Holmes, Montgomery, Myers, Stanley, Williams.

I try to use the best possible photo on memorials because I know how important it is to be able to read all the text on the marker.

Find A Grave allows 5 free spaces for photos on each memorial page, so I try not to upload more than 2-3 cemetery photos. If you need more room for photos, please contact me and ask me to remove a photo so you have more room.

My Photos: If anyone would like to use any of my grave marker photos, please contact me for permission.

Transfering Memorials: For those that are not of my family, please contact me, and include your member name & number, the name on the memorial and memorial number.

Please Note: The last residence on the Social Security Death Index is not always where the person died, but where the last benefit check was sent.

Hi! Jan, I live in Everett, so can't be any help there. Two ideas, tho . . . The person who has posted many of the headstone photos in Dayton (Geraldine . . . can't remember her last name would be a good person to contact as she IS local, being related to many folks buried in both Dayton and Waitsburg. The other idea . . . have you ever queried ASK A LIBRARIAN? The times I've accessed that resource I've had good luck.

Let me know if you succeed in your searches and whether you want me to transfer any listings I have re. your family. Ann Koch

Good luck!

Hi! Jan, No, I'm not related. was the marriage record you mentioned found on the WA digital archives website? If so, I'm assuming you would have checked that source for an earlier marriage of Otis Adams. I'd be happy to transfer Otis' listing to you . . . just let me know, OK? If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Ann

Alrighty, so if you'll look at the memorial I've added a photo of the 1918 directory in St. Paul, MN showing that he is living at the same address as his parents, Olof (Olaf) and Bertha. The draft card for WWI shows he's living in St. Paul at the time also has the full birth date 25 Dec is listed there with a discrepancy of the birth year of either 1893 or 1894 between the two draft cards-WWI vs. WWII. Unfortunately we don't have access to birth records before 1900 in MN online yet. I was researching his sister, Esther, b 1905, whose birth record confirms her parents. If this isn't enough to convince you I can't help that but I will keep the photo up to assist others. It's tough tracking down relatives like this who move so far across the country.

That all sounds good. The information I had was from a family history, which as you show can still be incorrect. And the "last residence" info makes sense.

I appreciate your research and desire to be accurate. And thanks so much for putting all that info in her memorial. And I don't remember the parent links being there before, so thanks for adding those too!

Hi Jan, I was going by the 1940 Fed Census which put them in Kelso, WA in April 1940. Larry is shown as 0/12 months of age. They lived in Longview in 1935 and that is where brother Donald was born. Did Longview have a better or maybe the only hospital in the area at that time; was it a home birth? Need birth records for sure. You decide!

RE: Fred O. Beane & wife Jennie M.
Hi Jan, Yes, Jennie Gruwell Bean was my great grandmother. Her daughters were Belva and Leota (my grandmother), she also had two sons, Harold and Cifford. She is buried in the family plot at Gregory South Dakota, IOOF Cemetery in Gregory South Dakota (also Gregory county). I have photos of her burial headstone. I believe her husband Fred is buried there also, as they had built the house in Gregory and he went back to farm in Iowa and died after falling off his horse. He was a school teacher. I have the tin type of his obituary along with Jennie's. I have tons of other information. I will check it out later this week for you. I have many questions for you. Kathy

Jan, thank you for finding all this wonderful information on Belva Beane. Belva was my grand aunt on my father's side. I will be traveling to South Dakota in October and plan on visiting the cemetery in Gregory to see if I can locate my great-great Grandparents markers, I will add pictures and let you know what I find. Thank you again.
