I started at a young age with the interest for the dead. This photo was taken in about 1957 at the Aztec Ruins in New Mexico. I am on the left and my cousin Diane Quinn on the right.|
Researching my family history is one of the most important goals in my life. I feel we should all know as much about our ancestors as possible. Through my research I have been able to spend quality time with my sister, Sandra Bertram MEIER. Researching has brought lots of people into my life I would never have met otherwise. Let's all keep up the good work.
I have just come across my pictures on Ancestry.com that someone has used as their own. There is no mention of where the picture came from. This is ashame. For all of you that tramp through knee high grass, work in the hot Texas sun, and in the cold north wind, use your own gas and then try to find a tree big enough when nature calls, you know what I am talking about. Please if you want to use my pictures or anyone elses please have the decency to ask before posting and give credit where credit is due.
PLEASE NOTE - VERY IMPORTANT:
"...The copyright of all photos posted to Find A Grave remains with the original submitter. No use of photos for any other website or personal use is permitted without the prior consent of the original submitter."
Since I am getting so many requests for transfers I have started using the findagrave guidelines for transfer. You do not need to own an ancestors memorial page to have a great memorial. I update them each day and will add to a memorial. Just use the edit button on the top right hand of the memorial to be edited.
New Editing Function
"FindaGrave has added a new editing function to all members. Check the 'Edit' tab on your profile page for pending edit requests for your memorials."
You currently have one or more such edit requests on your profile page. Most edit requests are no longer sent from FindaGrave with an email notice to the memorial creator/current manager. You have to go to your profile page and check the Edit tab to see the requests for additions or changes to your memorials.
Please check your profile page so that the requested edits can be processed. FindaGrave has made this change to facilitate rapid handling of multiple edit requests.

Hi I was wondering if you could transfer the following find a grave to me. This is my step daughters mother 86240238
|David Laughtin||Delilah Lee Daugherty|
I would like to request the use of your photos of Delilah's grave marker on my Ancestry.com website. She was the wife of my first cousin Marion Daugherty. Thanks for your consideration in advance.

After I was so sure this was my grandmother's grave, I now have doubts. My grandmother was born Nov. 1867 and I am not sure of the month in 1910. Her husband is buried in Collin County Texas so I now think this may not be her grave after all.
I will do more research and let you know if I need to pursuit this grave any further.
Thank you so much for your help and to the person that took the pictures.

Hi, My name is Don Dale in Casa Grande, Az. and I find where you have my Grandmother's grave listed in Bessmay Cemetery.
I have been searching all over East Texas for years for her grave and I am so excited that I have finally found it. My dad was orphaned at seven years old and never knew where his mother was buried.
Is there any way you could take a picture of her grave and get it to me? I am eighty years old and hope to one day come to visit the grave myself. Also, could you please let me know if the grave is maintained and if not who I might get to take care of it.
I would greatly appreciate your help with this and would gladly pay you for your time.
Thank you for your help/
Best to you and yours,

This person is my paternal grandfather although I never knew him. He died prior to my birth. you have left off his list of children my father.
My father was R.V. Goode born 1908. I do not have his death year in my head but will check that out for sure. He was about 75 so I'm thinking about 1983. He is buried at Houston National Military Cemetery. My father served in the US Army in WWII. He married a Dutch WarBride Elizabeth Corneilia Nievelstein Goode. She died in 2014. His brother Seth R Goode died during WWII in an accident at Magnolia Petroleum Company (later Mobil Oil). His other brothers: Wiley Goode & L.D. (Levi Daniel) had no children. He also had sisters: Mina Lee, Florence, Blanche, Gladys, Katherine. I have to think if I am forgetting anyone. Oh and two half sisters born of his father's first marriage which ended when his first wife died & left him with two young daughters: Mary Elizabeth Goode Pope & I will have to check the name of the older of the two who married a man named Ferguson and they had two daughters, one being Edna Merle Ferguson.

Hi Janet, Thank you for taking the photos of the headstones of my cousin, Dora E Smitheal and her spouse, Claude E Smitheal, and posting them on Find A Grave. I would like your permission to use them in my family tree on Ancestry.com. I am sorry your photos have been used without permission - these two have, as well. However, if you give me permission, I will place your name in the title along with the admonition to contact you to use the photo. I understand your frustration. I allow anyone to use the few photos I have placed on Find A Grave, but I did not spend hours in the sun taking them, either - I retrieved them from my stash of family photos and scanned them in my air conditioned office! Quite a difference in effort.
The photos of my relatives' headstones enhance their profile page (I use the photos in the 'Death' section of the page) and add character to my tree.
Again, thank you for your hard work, your time and your perseverance. And, most of all, your generosity.
