~~Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country~~

Looking for additional information on the Moore side of the family along with Hall,Boone,Gunn,Mills, Davis and Jennings just to name a few. Most of my Moore's came from eastern Tennessee according to the information I have from My grandfather used to tease us and tell us we were related to Daniel Boone. According to his was right, we are way down the line that is for sure. I am his 4th cousin six times removed, whatever that means...The Mills side I have started on came from Danville, Arkansas, at least that is where my maternal grandmother and her siblings were born.

RE: Lesby Sneed
Her middle name was "Gertrude." She only had one brother, born to Arka and George, named "John Roscoe Trawick"(1917-1982). The little girl that was born to Arka and George in 1918 died at birth, and Arka died three days later. Arka and her children were my Sneed cousins.

RE: Lesby Sneed
Are you interested in Arka's background? I'm not completely sure what you mean.

RE: Lesby Sneed

Lesby's mother was Arka Delpha Sneed (1898-1919), George J. Tarwick's first wife, not his second, Alice Susan Moore Harris Tarwick. George married Arka on June 27, 1915, and then Alice on January 24, 1926, seven years after Arka died. Lesby was born in 1916 to George and Arka.

I hope this clears it up for you.

Just where is central cemetery? She is also listed in Central Cemetery in Faulkner Co, Arkansas. I would go ther to see for myself. I am 86 and live in Arizona. I hope to get this correct to add to my family tree maker records. Thank you, Reba

Soul Seekers
Hello Shipmate and fellow Navy Vet.

I too am retired with over 20 years active service. I retired in 1973 and lived about two miles from this particular cemetery for over 30 years. I passed this cemetery twice daily during the school year as a bus driver for the Quitman School District. Other times I passed when going to and from hay fields.

Central Cemetery is located about four miles from Quitman and is actually in Van Buren Co and not Cleburne Co. There is no Central Cemetery located in Quitman, Cleburne Co. I think all the memorials that you have established had previous memorials established in the Central Cemetery, Van Buren Co.

Best regards Shipmate.
