Bio and Links
Bio Photo Nearly all of the memorials I have entered and flowers left are somehow related to our family, if you happen to be related would love to hear from you.

I am currently working on trying to locate the final resting place of all the men who were part of the First Special Service Force, aka Devil's Brigade or Black Devils. In July 2013, the Congressional Gold Medal was awarded, collectively, to the First Special Service Force, in recognition of its superior service during World War II. Presentation of the Congressional Gold Medal took place February 3, 2015 in Washington D.C.
My father-in-law, C.W. "Tiny" Beacon served in this elite unit.

Most memorials I have created in CT cemeteries are not family and happy to transfer to family or anyone who wishes to take care of memorial.

I looked up your request. Their name is in the book with a plot number but there is no marker in that spot. The book has status as "Reserved". Just FYI

Raymond F. Mynhier
My family tree research has taken me to your Find-A-grave memorial for Raymond F. Mynhier. You may already have this information, however if not, I'm sure it would be of interest to you. In a book by Michelle Slatalla named " The Town on Beaver Creek", it describes "Reds" life and a small amount of his military service. It begins on page 119 (chapter eleven)and continues into chapter twelve.
The book was published in 2006 so all I can find are used copies. Found several on e-bay, and Amazon. They are very inexpensive but for me they are Gold. Let me know what you think.

RE: Lawrence Family
You're welcome, and if it ever stops raining, I may get a few more done.

Thank you for your contact. I also have done some research on the Devil's Brigade and am most interested in any information. I am especially interested in any stories or memories of Gordon and his service and fellow soldiers. As I found your contact message on, where might I find your tribute site? I would like to continue correspondence

Chet Wilson - Devil's Brigade
I see that you created a memorial for Chet Wilson who was a member of the Devil's Brigade. Chet and his wife Joan were special friends and mentors to me. Chet spoke to me often of his experiences in life and used them to make points in his conversation. He told me stories of being in the Devil's Brigade and of the assault on Mount Majo in central Italy and also of the ambushed of his platoon by the Germans where he was the lone survivor. He also spoke of his grilling by the German SS, and his time in a prisoner of war camp in Germany. These conversations were long ago but I would do my best to remember them if you were writing something about the Devil's Brigade. Chet and Joan were very special people. R. Prentice
