I thought something like that had happened because I could see that it was a new stone.
I posted birth and death places and feel the birth information in the obit is in error.
Her mother's obit says: "The couple came to Madison County, Iowa in 1846 and established a home on section seven in south township."
you can access this obit on: http://iagenweb.org/boards/madison/obituaries/index

If you can't get in to it, send me your email and I will copy it for you. It is from the Winterset News, Friday August 19, 1904. Find-a-grave rules say not to post without permission, so I never do.

I have put in Madison Co. for her birth place. I know that her obit says she was born in Des Moines County, but the family never lived there.
As per her mother's obit, they came to Madison County, Iowa in 1846. All of her mother's siblings came about that time also and lived in Polk and Warren Counties.

I'm also wondering how it can be an unmarked grave, since someone has now placed a stone there? Maybe that remark should be removed.

Thanks for the consideration.

Thanks for the note. I check and contribute to a lot of memorials. I like to verify & check memorials for accuracy. So
many people complain about these not being accurate, & I like to "fix" the ones I can.
