Edmund Burke said "People will not look forward to posterity, who never look back to their ancestors." I do believe that is true and have been dabbling in genealogy research on my husband's and my families for about 40 years plus I have a library science background. Between the two and the love of solving puzzles, I love research of any kind. When I found this site I was excited because it is easy to use, has a wealth of information on ancestral burials, plus it's free! I love this site and am on it every day searching or adding information. I will keep working and seeking more information to help our family trees along, plus help others as I can.
Thanks for this wonderful website!

P.S. Please use the "Edit" button to add obituaries, biographies, etc. I will gladly add them!

John Schmidt
Hi Lois,
I found your listing for John Schmidt #146251811 in Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago. I read that it is hard to get information on burials in Rosehill. I would like to find out where John Schmidt and his son Edwin S. Smith are buried in Rosehill.
Thank you for your volunteer work with Find A Grave and any help you may be able to give you.
Thank you ,
Kathlyn Kraffmiller

Lois, I found your memorial for Calvin M Houghton in the Denmark Cemetery, Langlois, Curry County, Oregon (Memorial #103241846) but did not find a memorial for his wife, Mary Pitts Hurst Kindle Houghton, whom I believe died 23 Jul 1914. (This date is after you created the record for Calvin.) Are you able to tell me if she is indeed buried there?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Peter C. Kutscher
I was mistaken when I identified Charles Karl Kutscher and Rhoda Bennett as the parents of Peter C. Kutscher. Peter C. Kutscher was living in their home in 1870.

I recently found the probate papers for Peter C. Kutscher's father. His father was Peter Kutscher born in Bavaria, Germany in 1835 (as per the 1860 U.S. Federal Census for Lee County, Iowa) and died in Lee County, Iowa in 1863. Mother of Peter C. Kutscher was Mary(nee ???)Kutscher born 1836 in Belgium (as per the 1860 U.S. Federal Census for Lee County, Iowa). Mary was alive when the estate of Peter Kutscher was settled, but I have not been able to find any records about her after that time.

Lois, I did receive your email and replied to you by that email address, but just in case you did not receive or it went to your spam folder -- I am resending on the Find A Grave message board.

You said the information that I requested that you add was incorrect, therefore you would not add. What information is incorrect so I can research again. This research is for my neighbor, Irene Stevens, daughter of Zelda Mae Messer, daughter of Hurt Franklin Messer and granddaughter of Edmond Messer. (Zelda Mae Messer married Leroy Curtis Lawson). Thank you, Joyce Luttrell - email:
