Interested in Boyd, Parker, Reed,Ford, on my husbands side of the family. Roberts, Watson, Fezer, Henderson, Hettick, Hargis, Dittemore on mine. I have been doing family genealogy for about 15 years. When I started using Find-A-Grave there were rules that most of the people tried to abide by. Now it seems a lot of people are out to make numbers - I know there are a lot of great people out there but have been very disillusioned lately - sarcastic and just plan nasty people, with memorials in the multi thousands.|
As most of you know, those that have done this for very long, Genealogy is not an exact science. Some managers have been transferring memorials to me, after I have given them some information for their consideration. This is fine. However, if you have a correction, PLEASE GIVE ME A LITTLE BACKGROUND & BE CONSIDERATE! If you are close family, do consider a transfer. I would prefer that close relatives have their loved ones. I'm not out to break any records. I sure don't want to "manage" all family lines clear back through even 4 generations. I would like to keep my managed memorials small, and in my direct line or if someone has asked nicely. This allows me to truly manage them, easily, without getting anyone confused. Would like too see, if possible, memorials managed within those families lines, however. Not that I don't appreciate those that volunteered & posted the memorials to start with, with out so many of you we wouldn't found our loved one, but transfer to closer family, please, if ask.
I do still travel back to the Phillips County, KS. area every couple of years and have contacts back there. If someone needs a picture. Can't promise but can try. I did find a couple of lost families & some children graves a family didn't know about. The families were thrilled & added them. That is what it is all about people. Helping families be reunited.
Next trip I will try to get to the Norton Cemetery, so let me know if anyone needs a picture.

Hi, Andrea, Thank you for the list. I will use it that is for sure.
Andrea, you have no idea how many photo' I have of my fathers family. Everytime I talked to anyone, I ask for copies of photo's. There are well over 600 of them. Got terribly out of control.
As for the Cotter and Yeakleys, hardly any photo's.
I have 15 REV WAR ancestors and I have done all 15 tree's. Now it is so big that I can't print it all out. The only thing that really bothers me is finding my tree under another persons name. And we all do regonize our own work. There is a Zirkle decendent that seems to be down loading a bunch of tree's that he has no connection to.
As for what your family did for a living, I did not have the advantage of really anything when I started 25 years ago. My mother was a Yeakley and her mother dumped her in an orphanage in St. Joe after her father died. She was 5 years old. I found her on the 1930 census as a 12 year old, ward of the state of Missouri and living as a servant in someone's home. She hid all she knew about her family and told her daughters she went to a boarding school. I promised myself that I would find her family since she was died at 53. She has been gone 45 years now. And I am glad I did because there were good people out there that were hers!
Her mothers family, and this surprised me, were Quakers who came over with William Penn. Wonder what happened to her???

You know, I don't think there is anybody that is really interested in Adam's family other than collect what is already done. He married my Grandmother Mary Berger aka Yeakley and I am actually from his sister Lydia. There is such a story there and I know it is confusing but...how do they know I am right. I really would like some back up if you know what I mean. I am almost 73 and I don't know what to do with all of this or what will happen to it when I die. I am just now going through all of them to make sure they are hooked up. So to speak. lol Anyway, thank you for taking and fixing his memorial correctly.

Hi, You know, I have found so many things on him that don't add up. I am going to transfer him to you since you know the problem too. I hope you don't mind.
|Linda J. Morris||George Wesley Dittemore|
I checked with 2 others that really research too and there seems to be a lot of conflict in tree's. If you will write it all out for me as to what you need changed, I would appreciate it. I did not look to see how many people added children and wifes to the memorial but I will do as you wish.
|Gloria Day||Alexander Van Comberg|
Thank you for pointing out that I created a duplicate memorial for Alexander Van Comberg. I have always used the European spelling the surnames and had not thought to drop the space between the Van and the rest of the surname Comberg.
I try to post the best data I have available and am not striving to achieve numbers, but post some of those whom I have in my files on Belgian and Dutch families.
I agree that those who post data just to have numbers on Find a Grave totally disregard the guidelines of the website.
I will contact Richard Weston in regard to the duplicate memorial.
|John K. Pierson||RE: Kevin John Bonner|
Kevin Bonner's wife may know what will happen to his memorials on Find a Grave. Their email used to be email@example.com.
Kevin's cousin, Ted Kenniston, has a lot of information on Find a Grave. You could contact him too. His email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
|Davis Arnold||RE: Lila Oleson|
Thanks for the acknowledgment. I enjoy taking these pictures.
Thank you very much for pointing out the duplicate memorials. Since I had so many links on my creation, I have asked Find a Grave to merge the memorials.
As for the birth/death information, thank you for pointing out my error. I have corrected his birth information. The death dates are what I thought I could read along with using the Town of Ottawa website where they have all of the cemetery information posted.
|J Wm Marshall||RE: Caleb Warren & Lurana Hargas|
It has bugged me that I hadn't been able to find their stones in the past. So when some new requests were posted recently - I stopped again and this time I was able to walk right up to them. I had walked right by them in the past. Old stones are sometimes are to read in certain light. ha.

Thank you for adding the photo to her memorial. I think it is very lovely.
