|The Shamrock Genealogical Society meets the 2nd Tuesday Evening of the month in the Zeigler House at 205 N. Madden St, Shamrock, TX 79079.|
The Pioneer West Museum owns Dr. Zeigler' home where he lived and practiced medicine in the early days in Shamrock and they have designated a room for the Shamrock Genealogical Society to keep records and information. It is open to the public Monday-Friday afternoons and we welcome visitors.
Genealogical Society began a project to photograph the headstones of burials in the Shamrock Cemetery in 2011. In taking the photos, volunteer members have surveyed the cemetery, adding burials which were missed earlier, and updating information as much as possible.
We appreciate additional information from friends and families.

Hi, my name is Shirley, I'm a granddaughter to Margaret Harlow Osburne, daughter of Grace Essary Harlow Dixon. I have found Cebron Essary to be Graces father in 1920 census but no mother. I have found a picture that states on the back it is Mr. and Mrs. Haldy and my grandmother noted it was her grandmother. My grandmother had a brother named Johnny Harrison Harlow who died in Ft. Smith, AR on 4/16/36 buried at Mtburg, AR. Can you please help me with this. Thank you for your time.

Hello Judy, When my uncle was buried, the area he was buried in was part of the cemetery but no one was buried in that area. He did not have a burial plot, and it could have been the "Potter's Field". The road was so close to his grave, when the cars went by on the corner they would run over his grave. My dad was always smoothing the grave site to do away with the ruts of the car tires. I can not remember other graves in that area, but the first person to be buried close to my uncle was a man who was running from the law. The police cornered him and he was killed by a gun shot close to Shamrock. He was buried near my uncle and I remember that my dad was so sad that they had buried a criminal close to his brother. I think in this time period,((maybe, but guessing about 1950) another gun fight took place and a young Shamrock man was killed in that shooting, but he was not buried in this area of the cemetery. I do not know if this helps, but of coarse there was a write-up in the Shamrock Texan...I know this may not be much help but he might be the person buried in space 8. I am very surprised there are no records of Mr. Richardson available. Have a happy day...now that I might have started you on a wild researching hunt...Laugh. Charlene

I came across this memorial and realized that you have linked to the wrong mother. According to this baby's birth registration:
- 1937 Texas Birth Index, 1903-1997
Name: Mary Ellen McLeod
Date of Birth: 23 Jul 1937
Birth County: Wheeler
Father's name: Aaron Delphos McLeod
Mother's name: Agnes Inez Adams
Roll number: 1937_0005
Her death registration says she was born prematurely and died within 2 hours of death. It looks like she was named after her paternal grandmother (who died before she was born) and was buried in their plot as per one of the posted photos.
See her parents memorials: #10575172 and #10575173. Baby Mary Ellen is listed on their double tombstone.
Thanks for all that you do.

Hi! I have reviewed your suggestion for the father of Wm Hammack (58849206) - the father, per his gravestone is J M Hammack = John M Hammack who died near Alvord, Wise Co, in 1918 per Anna's obit... Anna married G. W. Poteet in 1924...
anything I'm missing??? :) k
