I discovered Find a Grave while doing research on ANCESTRY for my own family and others'. I appreciated finding info when available but it wasn't until made a memorial page for my infant son that the power of having a photo taken for me when i lived so far away really hit me. It caused healing tears and tremendous satisfaction- -now I could "visit" him whenever I wanted. |
That experience impacted me so profoundly that I have become a volunteer. I live in the Appalachian Mountains and traveling isn't easy for me as I am disabled and wheelchair bound. I take far more photos than requested in caseworker will want it someday. This is my way if giving back. I'm a retired grief therapist so I know the tremendous importance of seeing a loved one's grave.

Kathryn I'm sorry it took so long. I somehow missed the message. The Carrolls you referred to are not my relatives. Laursa's father Benjamin Carroll was born in Missouri just about the same time my Carroll family was migrating from Niagara Falls Canada to Iowa. Mid 1850s
Hope you had a Merry Christmas...
Thank you so much for taking photo of his final resting place.

The photo has been deleted. I'm so happy you have decided to volunteer. It's been a wonderful experience for me and I know you will feel the same satisfaction. Keep up the good work.

You are quite welcome. You gave great instructions and I walked right up do it. I don't mind the changes and want you to feel free to delete my picture if you like.
