Thank you for your response to my question. I was familiar with the Tynan book, but only in fragments online. I wasn't aware that image was there at all. Thank you for telling me.
Sonny Hand, the author of "One Good Regiment," contacted me some years ago and shared electronically a photo of Kerwin in what seems to be that same pose. I'm looking for a copy of that correspondence now.

I am very interested in knowing the source of the pencil drawing of Col. Michael Kerwin (13th PA cavalry) that you posted on his find-a-grave site. I've seen a photographic version of that pose, but never the drawing that you added. Col. Kerwin's sister, Mary, is my 2x great grandmother and I'm working on writing a small biographical sketch of Col. Kerwin.

I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am presently working on a project to identify the last resting places of many of our "Boy's In Blue" Z.K. Pangborn is one such patriot.I do have a photo of his monument, but do not have a photo of him. May I use the photo that you
contributed to his Find A Grave memorial, to post on the Vermont Civil War site?( www.vermontcivilwar.org)
You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.
