One of my main goals for 2017 will be to complete the 700+ entries added via spreadsheet for Rest Haven Cemetery. You are welcome to send edits but I will be completing these as I locate records to fill in the missing information, link families, and correct the dates of death which are currently listed from the cemetery records as dates of burial. Thank you for your patience.|
PLEASE do not take my photos (family pictures or grave photos) and use elsewhere, especially Ancestry, without my permission. There's personal family photos I've never even uploaded to Ancestry but have ONLY placed on Find A Grave that have been taken and put on other's Ancestry trees, and they aren't even related to us!! Really??????
Much of my work is from "mowing the rows" in our local cemeteries or in those that are special to me when I get a chance to visit. I try to be very thorough in what I do post to this site. My favorite part of contributing to Find A Grave is walking the cemeteries and taking photos. I also utilize available records for my entries and hope to either photograph later myself or have other contributors photograph these graves, as I have photographed theirs. ACCURATE cemetery documentation is very important, and this is why I do what I do.
I love to research and link families, and add biographical information - please use the Edit tab and send me any information you would like to have added, and I will add based on the rules for bios set in the Find A Grave FAQ's, which includes rewriting obituary information facts so as not to violate copyright (pre-1923 obits excluded).
I will consider transfers outside the four-generation Find-A-Grave guidelines.
PLEASE carefully check the cemetery in which you want to list a memorial (it doesn't hurt to quickly check the county too) BEFORE you list it, as one may already exist for that person. Duplicate memorials for the same person, ("Dupes"), whether accidental or intentional, are not allowed by F-A-G. Duplicates erode the quality of this site and are problematic for many reasons. I will send you a friendly SAC if I see one.
It is very sad that quite a few contributors continue to misuse this site and post entries as permanent BURIAL UNKNOWN, both recent deaths and those 100 years ago or more.
This is Find A GRAVE, not a memorial site for generations of folks who have passed on and we do not know where they are buried, or for certain what happened to their remains.
I do not add entries for those with unknown dispositions (Burial Unknown) to Find A Grave. I also will not link my managed memorials to those without proper dispositions. Please do not link any BURIAL UNKNOWN entries to the memorials I manage; I will request the links to be removed if I become aware they have been linked.
PLEASE realize this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE, not a place for you to build your family tree :) If you do not know where the person was buried, or the final disposition of the remains, you should not be listing the person on FIND A GRAVE.
The most recent FAQ's regarding the purpose of this site:
What is Find A Grave?
Find a Grave's mission is to find, record
and present final disposition information from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.
Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration
of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the
main mission,then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.
Find a Grave memorials may contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can
leave remembrances via ‘virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.
Find A Grave is a resource for anyone in finding the final disposition of family,
friends, and ‘famous' individuals.
Find A Grave is definitely a genealogical RESOURCE, but not a genealogical SITE..... There's a difference :)

|Beverly Rampey||Henry Silas Rampey|
He is listed as John Duffie Rampey's father and brother, with same birth and death dates. I looked at Henry's Find A Grave page and the person listed as contributor no longer accepts messages. On that page HSR is listed as grandfather, father, son, all with the same birth and death dates. Even if that page cannot be fixed right now, perhaps you could check further on your information. Thanks.

RE: John Amos Addis, Sr (1805-1894), Poplar Springs Cemetery, SC
I'm curious about the source of his full name. Is it on the marker?
|Katrina McGhee||RE: Permission to use photos|
Thanks again for the photos.--Katrina
|Charlotte||Hello from Austria !|

Just a note that if you don't want people using your photos on Ancestry, then they shouldn't be posted here. Ancestry.com now owns Find A Grave and TOS have been updated to indicate that posted photos can be used by others throughout Ancestry.
Here are some parts that indicate that from FAQs
Submitting a photo to Find A Grave grants Find A Grave a license to host the photo and facilitate the sharing of that photo across the Ancestry Community, so that Find A Grave users can post that photo to other Ancestry Community websites.
Our Terms of Service allow photos posted to Find A Grave to be shared amongst the Ancestry Community. As a result, you can post photos you found on Find A Grave to your Find A Grave memorials or on other Ancestry Community websites.
|Katrina McGhee||Permission to use photos|
May I have your permission to add the grave photos of John C. Gaillard & Charles P. Gaillard in West View Cemetery, Pickens, SC. to my Ancestry trees. They are cousins of my Mom-Emilee Gaillard Sampler. I give credit for photos used. I live in Georgia and have not been able to visit all of the SC gravesites. Thank you for all you do.

I saw the duplicate and the person won't communicate with me
This is what I found
Burial: Unknown, Centers Meeting House Cemetery, Randolph County, North Carolina
|Claire Ehrhart Abel||John Lewis|
I haven't done any further work on this to verify where he is buried - sorry
If you find out let me know and I will change it
|GenieBugs||Westminster Memorial Park|
FYI I did not post duplicates in this cemetery. I submitted spread sheet and people who incorrectly posted to another cemetery transferred their posts instead of adding to mine.
|Bennie Gross||Estelle Simpson|
Hi Karyn, just to let you know that I have went back over to Fairfax Cemetery and checked the area where William Simpson is buried. No one is buried in that lot except him. If Estelle is buried their she must be in an unmarked grave. Sorry that I couldn't be of any further help.
Could she be buried under a differ name by any chance?
