I have lived in the Pacific NW most of my life, I travel and take cemetery pic's when I am able, mostly in OR, WA, ID, & MT. (and now SE Texas)|
I am researching these names:
SWEET, WENTZ, STILSON, FULLER, GRAY, HUFF, McCLAIN, and BRIGGS.
AANERUD, WELL, CUNNINGHAM, WALLER,
PORTER, WALKER, HOUSTON, GREENE,
COUNTISS, MUSICK, FLEENOR, and WEBB.
I don't mind transferring outside of the parameters of FAG. Please use the edit tab.
To be fair for the others that may be related, I will only transfer one of a couple, (ie Grandparents, GGparents etc.) to a single contributor.
I DO NOT link to virtual memorials, however will add the info in notes.

Thanks, Cyndi, I'm having so much fun finding ancestors, Nancy
Hi Cyndi, I have transferred your Wallers to you. You say you have worked now in SE Texas. Are you here now? I am in League City heading for Galveston tomorrow. I have done some work while I was here as well in Rockport and Edna more central south. I worked a bit on one in Corpus Christi with over 700 requests and there is one here in Houston with 1000. Yikes!! Have Fun! Rosalie
|Marjorie Mountainsong||RE: Link to Stanton Babcock Clarke|
You're welcome. I have followed Stanton and Olive through time and have a fat folder of information. They are sometimes difficult to recognize because the last name gets written without the final "e." For years, I did not recognize their name in the History of Wabasha County book because it was given, if I am remembering correctly, as "S.B.Clark." If you have information that goes backward in time or any photos of Stanton and his wife, Olive Crandell, I would love to hear from you.
I just wanted to say Thank You for all your help with the edits ive been sending for Mountain View Cemetery! I hope you have a great weekend:) -Caroline

Thanks so much for sending me a document with her maiden name. I just added it to her memorial. If you find a Bible record, etc., with more names or dates, please send!

|wjk||RE: Kenneth Robert Keys memorial|
William (Bill) Kenneth Keys is my husband's uncle. I took that photo of the headstone and never found out why it had Kenneth Robert or, for that matter, the census entries either tho at least the Kenneth was partially correct. I was confused for years. William's father, Floyd, lived to be 100 but unfortunately I didn't get the genealogy bug until after he died. My husband's father died young and my mother-in-law had also died before I saw the headstone so my best sources were gone. I have since found the original death certificate (birth 16 Feb 1919) which confirms the name and relationship with Floyd and Etta. I also found newspaper articles about William's death (a suicide that probably actually occurred 12/25/38, the body not being found until January 1939) which is information also supported by family memories (albeit not much discussed). Thus I am certain that the William Kenneth is the correct name. If you feel comfortable with this I would like to see the information changed.
My husband's Clarke family goes back through Martha Clarke Graham (his 3rd gr grandmother) on to Richard & Keziah (Perkins) Clarke. Not an uncommon name but apparently our connection somehow.
Thanks for replying,

Thanks so much for recent edits. I have made them and also linked Helen & Kenneth to a Burial Unk memorial I made for their son Dave (one of my classmates). Do you have any way to find out where Dave is buried? I got info from school website but don't have Funeral Home info & have hesitated to contact his sister, also not sure just how to - if you do have info I'd like to get his memorial in proper place. Again thanks so much and pls let me know if you want any of these which might be relatives to you transferred to you. Sandi

|Ken Keller||Lyman Gray|
I think you can as a relative ask the Federal Vets Adm. for a free stone for a Veteran if you could prove he was in the service. His name should be on the roster for his unit. Might be worth a try.

In this case the state was taking the land for a flood control dam. The state offered to move the markers & "the bucket" for free; if the family wanted the physical remains removed the family had to pay for it. In some cases, the burials were so old, the family saw no point; in some cases the family felt that their ancestors were buried where they wanted to be; in some cases, the family just didn't have the money; in some cases no family was located.
In the case of Quabbin where it was going to be a drinking water reservoir, the state moved the remains from the area to be flooded + the surrounding watershed.
When the local Catholic cemetery moved in 1865, they removed both because it was consecrated ground & they couldn't deconsecrate (not sure that is a word) it while there were burials remaining. They obviously missed some as it now is a playground & human bones have worked their way to the top.
