RE: Thirza Curtis Smith
Wow, you have opened more things to me. Somehow I think I'll never get my genealogy "done"! I had no idea of wikitree. I will pass this on to everyone now. Thanks for all you do.

Thirza Curtis Smith
Do you know who her parents are? She was in Hartford, Ct at the same time as many of my Curtis families.

Rebecca Smith
I don't know if George was a polygamist. More likely there were (at least) 2 George Smiths. I have OH death certificates for 2 different George Smiths.
Marriage record for George Smith and Rebecca Doute in Auglaize County (OH) Probate records - 9 Oct 1872 - Vol 4, p. 102.
George and Rebecca had 2 children - Arthur and Bertha. Bertha's death certificate lists her parents as Geo Smith and Rebecca Douty[sic].
Rebecca died before 1880 census.
I believe the George Smith married to Rebecca Doute died in Auglaize County in 1924 (born 1847 according to his death certificate). I think the George Smith married to Mary Moothart died in Shelby County in 1920 (born 1838 according to his death certificate).
So 2 George Smiths about the same age and living in adjoining counties.
I hope this helps.

RE: James Henry Kief # 50983250
I don't know any more than what the death certificate states, and as you know, the information is only as good as the informant gives.
Which in this case was Mrs. John Inman of Sikeston, MO.
Says father is James Kief, mother is Betty McNeal, does not state where either was born. James is listed as a male white, farmer, widowed, address is listed as Cleveland Street in Charleston. Lived in Mississippi County 46 years. Died of Tetnus and Gas Gangrene. Buried Oak Grove Cemetery.
So I don't know, but if you think this is your relative, let me know and I will transfer him to you.
