Bio Photo =========================================
I was born and raised in Californa, and now reside in West Metro Atlanta, Georgia.

Genealogy is my main hobby. I've been researching my family since September 2000. It's a labor of Love! It may be frustrating at times, but it never gets old!

My Mom's side of the family comes from the north and Mid West(NJ, NY, VT, PA, OH, IN, WI, NE, KS then on out to CA) as well as those who emigrated from Scotland, England, Ireland, France, Holland and Germany. This side of my family is spread out all over the country now. Surnames include:ANDERSON, BENNETT, BRITTON, SPRINKLE, WILLIAMSON, BEATTY, STEWART, TEMPLETON, HUSTON, DIXON, SHEPHERD/SHEPPERD, FORSHEE/FORSHAY, BRUCE, SPRINKLE/SPRANKLE/SPRENKLE/SPRENCKEL, WHITE, WEBB, BROWN, STOBBY, BREWER/BROUWER/BREWEN, GUINN, DENNEHY, BLOOD, WENRICK, WARD, LINGLE, BREON, STEPHENS, CABOT, VANDYKE, VAN VOORHEES, VAN ARSDALEN, DEMAREE, VERDON.

My Dad's side is from the south (VA, NC, SC, GA, AL, MS, LA/NATCHEZ TERRITORY). Most of this side of my family still resides in Mississippi! Some since the very early 1800's and the last of them since since the late 1840's! Surnames include: WATSON, MABRY, CANNADY, SULLIVAN, HORTON, McDONALD(adopted), SOLEY, JONES, WILLIAMS, McCARTY, ELLIOTT, LUCAS, PRUITT/PREWITT, WALKER, LAREMORE. Other associated surnames are: STREET, WALLER, GATLIN, BODIE, LANGLEY, LOWREY, BUTLER, PRICE, SPEARS, CARLETON/CARLTON, GRACE, SHAW, GORE.

I'm so glad I found Find A Grave! It has helped me fill in a LOT of blanks in my family history! For that I have to thank the contributors here! Y'all are AWESOME!

Hi, Melissa,
I was checking Findagrave today, randomly, to see if anything had been added, and I found this memorial #143374709.
I am traveling out of town, but will try to contact the person who created it when I return home. Just thought you would be interested, too. I'll let you know what I find out.

I hope all is well with you and yours.
Sincerely,
Cousin, Patsy McLaughlin

Willam A Watson Memorial# 154659071
Hello Melissa:
There appears to be a William A Watson that was married to Mary with the children Jack, Joel, and Lois D in Mississippi on the census. There also appears to be a William A Watson married to Beryl, children Agnes, Audrey, Tim, Ruth and Doris that lived in Georgia on the census. This memorial is for a William A Watson that was buried in Georgia near where the Georgia William A Watson lived on the census. I am just wondering if there is any possibility the info for the MS William A Watson was attached to the GA William A Watson. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

ANDERSON - Fairfield Co, Ohio
Working on my ANDERSON family from Fairfield Co, OH and I think that mine descended from your listings.
Thomas ANDERSON b. 15 Oct 1787 d. 3 Mar 1859 Lancaster, Fairfield Co, OH; m. 18 Feb 1810 Mary Magdalena MECHLING
Their children (look at the shared and familiar family names):
Levi, James, Jesse, Elijah Samuel Hamilton, Simon Bolivar, Thomas, Mary Ann, Catherine

From 'my' Thomas I have an entire descendant line with all information.

Do you think that 'my' Thomas could have been descended from your Andersons and perhaps not listed. Do you have wills with all of the names of the descendants? Or do you think that because Thomas migrated to Ohio he was not included? Interesting that Capt. Thomas J Anderson died in Fairfield Co, OH. I found the homestead for 'my' Thomas and visited it last fall. It is still in 'the family'!

RE: Alford McCarty Grave
Hello:

Thank you for answering my question. I didn't think there was deception but I had never seen this before and curious about it.

Sincerely,

Marianne

Alford McCarty Grave
Hello:

I just come across the entry for the grave for Alford McCarty in Jasper County, Mississippi. There are photos for two different headstones/grave markers. One of these looks suspiciously modern for someone who died in 1850. You are listed as maintaining this record. Do you know why there are two tombstones pictured?

Thank you,

Marianne Lorio

I have added a copy of his death certificate to his page - you left no email address in which to send it to you. You can access them yourself for Georgia on - Georgia's Virtual Vault - Death Certificates. They are free and are listed from 1918-1927. They are also on www.familysearch.org. - also free and go through 1938. Hope this helps you in some way.

Sarah Walker McCarty
Hi Melissa - I was very interested in the excerpt of a conversation between you and Judith F. Russell about Sarah's parentage. I am a Walker descendant of Ezekiel Walker and would like to contact whoever said, "It is a good possibility to investigate, rather, the daughter of Ezekiel Walker, brother of Francis Walker." I am an amateur, but have noticed that some articles do not include Ezekiel and Francis as two of the sons of Isaac Walker of Prince Georges Island, MD, and some do. If you are related to Mississippi Walkers also, I would like to know what you have found. Thanks for any help. If I should contact you at a different address for this kind of information, please let me know.
