Bio

Cowgirl Genealogist from Western Texas. Some of the names I am researching include:
COWDEN, LAWSON, BIGGS, WEBB, BARBER, FLOURNOY, MARSHALL, EPPERSON, THOMAS, FONVILLE, TOWERS, POTTS, TAYLOR, FOX, HALE, PARUM, BOBO, NOLEN, WISE, GRESHAM, and many others.

I am presently trying to prove my Cherokee roots through the following lines: NORRIS, LAWSON, COWDEN, THOMAS, from the Carolinas into Tennessee, then Texas, Arkansas, etc. The Norris line has been reported as going back through Granny Hopper to Chief Old Hop. BARBER, FLOURNOY, NOLEN, JAMES, ALBRITTON, McDONALD, and possibly ALLEN. These people started out in South Carolina, came into Georgia, then into Alabama, Louisiana, thence to Texas.

I have other American Indian lineage that I am also attempting to document. The LAWSON and COWDEN lines have family tradition of Cherokee (and Blackfoot); the WEBB line has tradition of Cherokee. There must be others, as I am 1/20 American Indian according to DNA testing.

I have cousins that are Cheyenne River Sioux; Cherokee; Caddo; and maybe Choctaw. Still researching...
