If you have ancestor buried at the Historic John Hunter Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant Tenn. Maury Co.|
there is a Facebook site Save Historic Hunter Cemetery Mt. Pleasant Tennessee and join the conversations about the condition of the ts and the damage in the cemetery.
Born and raised in Lewis and Maury County, Tennessee. Member of the National Society of Children of the American Revolutionary War.
Maury Co., Tn has many historical cemeteries. Many Rev. War soldiers are buried in Maury Co./Lewis Co. Tn., also many Civil War Generals, War of 1812, and their soldiers.
Cemetery preservation is very important to me and I try to list from actual cemetery visits and various book listings. I have been working with Wayne Austin for the last 10 years as a volunteer contributor for his project.
Please, e-mail me with any corrections or additional information that needs to be posted at any Maury County Cemetery where you see my name via the edit option on the memorial.
If I have posted a close relative of yours let me know and I will transfer. Please use the edit option on the memorial for updates, corrections and questions, my responce will be much faster, I don't have to look up the memorial by name that way.
1-14-2014 - Just noticed this: www.findagrave.com (Find A Grave) has started something new. Go to your Contributor Home Page and you will see an Edit Tab on the right hand side at the top. You will now need to approve or decline those edits submitted by users.

|marilyn blacknall||Cornelia A Booker|
Cornelia A Booker 1818-1822 was 4 yrs old. I have often seen a future child named in honor of a deceased child. Hence Cornelia A Booker 1829-1886. I believe this to be the case here. Thank you for the work you do.

|Molly McLaughlin||Richard D. Sansom|
Richard D. Sansom, son of Judge William Sansom and his wife, Elizabeth Dancy Napier (d/o Richard C. Napier and Molly Wills Napier) died in 1828 in Dickson Co., Tn. His siblings, Dorrell N. and William C. and wife, Barbara were execrs. of his estate, and his uncle Henry AC Napier. Only Henry AC Napier and John W(ills) Napier acted in that capacity. He had children but not able to discern who they were...Barbara is apparently a Simmons, d/o Thomas Simmons who was appt. guardian of her children...perhaps she also died early.
|Donna Spears||Martha E Pennington King|
As mentioned in our email, she is buried in the Lisbon Cemetery with two of her sons in Dallas County, Texas. She was living with William Thomas at the time of her death. I suspect that the gravestone in Tennessee is a cenotaph placed near her husband by the children who remained in Tennessee, or a different person. The dates are slightly off as well. I have created a memorial for her in the Lisbon Cemetery. We could place a note in each memorial referring to the other if you are sure that the gravestone in Tennessee is for the same person.

Greetings - I'm just curious about where the quoted information on this grave might have come from, if you know? I'm desperately trying to figure out WHICH Wm J Briggs from Maury/Williamson counties might be my ancestor, and the subject grave of a Wm J who was killed in what I assume to be the Civil War isn't him! Appreciate anything you could share. Thanks much. Sarah M. (mewsician)
|Johnya||Robert Love "Bob Taylor" Taylor McLean|
Thank you for adding Bob Taylor's parents John and Sallie McLean to his Find a Grave page. Bob Taylor is my great-grandfather and it is nice to see his parents there!
Thanks again for your help,

Surely! Hope someone will let me know if I made one.
|sandra mauck||A J Clark Issue, please help!|
In my family line, I have come across John
Clark, b. 1821 and wife J E b. 1825, with several children, JL, b. 1845, EJ. b. 1848, M E, b. J E. born 1852, JJ b/ 1854 and A J b. 1856 from the 1860 census.
There seems to be a difference in these initials and the known parents and children of Andrew Jackson Clark , they do not match up, it seems some of the children of A J are showed in the Andrew Jackson Clark family and our A J. There is something amiss however as it does not all match up, can you help? Thanks, so much! Sandra

Occasionally, when I finally get some free time, I go to the archives on 6th Street here in Columbia where they have the microfiche of the Columbia Daily Herald. I go there looking for obits of some for my pages and occasionally get a copy of the whole page.
In one instance I caught the obit for Aline V Layne, daughter of Lillow and Rebecca Stinnett Hendrix and the widow of Larry Layne.
I can send a copy to you if you wish.
