I came across this website and decided it was a nice way to honor forever those loved ones who have crossed my path of life at some time whether family, friends, co-workers or their families. I have also included quite a bit of information on my family (Rake/Raike & McCane) as it becomes available for genealogy purposes.
If by adding any of your loved ones I have overstepped my bounds or upset you that is not my intent. If you do not like what I have done please let me know and I can delete the information.
Please use the edit button for sending any requests for corrections or transfer.
If you have other loved ones you would like for me to add just send me their information and I will be happy to do so for you.
The comment below isn't mine but I saw how true it was within a short time of being on Find A Grave. I copied this to share from another member's site:
I think it is really a shame what findagrave has evolved into. What started as a noble way to link people with graves of loved ones they could never hope to see, and with the generations that had preceded them, has turned into a game for some.
Memorials have turned into a kind of "trading card", a competition of who can own the most memorials and post the highest numbers. What has been forgotten by many is that these are people, loved in life and death, not a commodity to be traded or owned.
My apologies to those that have pure motives. I hope there are more of us than there are of them.
You may use any of my photos for your own personal use or for posting to your tree on Ancestry.com without my expressed consent. You are not permitted to use my photos for commercial usage. If you do use my photos, I appreciate a note crediting me with the photo if you can. If not, no big deal. The whole purpose of posting photos is to breathe life back to the deceased.

|Linda Green||Edward Borucki|
I met Edward Borucki a few years ago when he was a curator on the USS Missouri. He gave us his business card which I just made a copy of to post on his listing. Unfortunately, mine came at the top of the list. It would look better if your pictures of him were above the business card. I also have a picture of him when I visited the Missouri, but can't find it. One more Pearl Harbor survivor gone.
Thanks for posting the photos you did. Do you know how to rearrange them?
|CharlieBall||Mary (Alsman) Ball|
Some time ago, you posted a photo of a Mary F. Alsman on the memorial of Mary Florence Alsman Ball # 30998617
I looked at this pretty carefully and believe strongly that this photo is actually of Mary Margaret (Foster) Alsman Beckner # 92952047
Mary Alsman Ball was not a teacher. Please delete the photo from the first memorial and post to the second. Thank you.
|Steve Blair||Joseph Henry Blair|
I am grateful for the photo of You place of Joseph Henry Blair who was born in 1857 and died in 1879 in Rushville and was the first son of Joseph Blair and Anne Smart Blair. I wish I had more photos of that family, however any will certainly do. I have been researching for over 40 years and Joseph is my direct line. I do have so things such as a copy of his death cert. and a book from the Library of Congress on microfilm about the History of the 37th Regiment of Indiana Infantry Volunteers-by SGT. George H. Puntenney and other military documents...However as an active genealogist I am always searching for more family relics as I like to call them.
Blessings to you.
|Doris Christensen||BARBARA HUFFMAN|
Thanks for putting Barbara's memorial in the Derby Cemetery. I have added a couple of pictures to it. Wishing I had taken a better shot of Blayne's military marker but at least his name can be read and it shows the location of the stepping stone.
Guess if anyone disagrees that this is not Barbara's gravesite they can let us know?
Thanks again for your help - and the quick response.

Here is one you could add to this
Find A Grave Memorial# 153671488
Dr Robert D Stewart, teacher at Belle Gregg and Rushville Elem, Principal at Rushville Elem
Thanks for your consideration. Rick
I posted the picture. Sometime I will try to take another picture that shows her name a bit better.

Mr Jackson was listed on the Gold Star list in Rush County, KIA in France in 1918. You do not have his memorial part of your Rush County War Casualties Virtual Cemetery. He is buried in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery in France and his Find A Grave Memorial# 55993581. Thought it would be nice to get him added to the list this Memorial Day weekend!
Thanks so much.
