Peter Johnston OR Peter Johnson (no T)?
There ar no parents listed for Peter Johnston however my records show that he was the son of James and Hannah Johnson (note no T). I could be wrong and if someone has other names for Peters parents, that could clear up a lot of confusion for me. Many thanks...please respond to djohnson43@att.net

Infor. I have: Hannah (daughter of Peter and Comfort) and her husband were living beside Peter in Jamestown in 1880. Turns out, Hannah and her family along with Peter and Comfort moved to Decatur County, Iowa apparently to be near son (James H) who had moved there earlier.

1840, Monroe Co., OH
1860, Lawrence, Washington Co., OH
1870, Silver Creek, Greene Co., OH
1880, Silver Creek, Greene Co., OH
1888 Moved to Iowa
1895 Iowa State Census, Eden Twp, Decatur Co., IA

Note: In 1888 son James H. was living in Iowa so Peter and Comfort must have moved our there to be with family.

RE: Horace G Zimmerman
I "think" the woman is Maggie Quincy, his 2nd wife. I just put a picture of Maude & her first husband along with sons. I got these pictures from Horace (Bud) and Maggie's son's youngest daughter. That particular photo was marked Mary's mother, who was Bud and Maude's daughter. So I'm confident that is Maude. I've put Perry's card, Maude and Bud's son on Find A Grave also. I find genealogy so interesting. I've been able to piece together quite a bit that Mom did not know about this side of the family. Do you know what happened to Maude's children when she died? They were living with them on the 1920 census. I know Mary stayed with Bud.

Larkins
Google Joseph W. Larkins, Margaret Johnson, Iowa.
Clara Evaline (Eva) Larkins was born March 17, 1881 in Auglaize County Ohio. Married Harvey W. Easterday November 1, 1899. Therefore she was not in the US Census between 1880 and 1900 with her family. She was however in the 1885 and 1895 State Census of Iowa.

RE: cumfort whitney
that makes us 5th cousins once removed, according to my precise calculations (well, actually, my genealogy program's calculations, but I don't think it will mind if I take credit).

Feel free to email me at ryoung73@hotmail.com if you want.

RE: cumfort whitney
thanks for letting me know that I was right about Cumfort's (I think I will stick with the spelling of Comfort, if you don't mind)lineage.

Are you a descendant of hers, or just interested in the Johnston line?

thanks
