Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello! I am originally from Massachusetts (Army Brat), but have lived most of my life in Virginia...almost the last 20 in Charlottesville. My mother's family was from New England. My dad's from Virginia/West Virginia.

I love doing research and helping folks out both with Ancestry and Find-a-Grave. And I have a wonderful first grandchild, a boy, Connor McCray Robbins, to keep me on my toes!

RE: Wirt Goff Smith #24315215
Very distant---My great-great grandmother's maiden name was Lucinda McCray-Leary; and Wirt Goff Smith's wife's maiden name was Violet McCray.--(Wirt is the husband of my 3rd cousin 2x removed)-- Also, strange as it may be, my mother's maiden name
was "Smith".

RE: Benjamin Kelly
Hi Kimberly,

I sent you a message on Ancestry (but I never did get yours over there). I would love to communicate with you about the common Kelly portions of our trees. I actually have two Kelly lines - the Benjamin Kelly that we share is not actually directly connected with the lineage of my last name. Lucy Kelly O'Hara had a daughter Margaret who married Lawrence Kelly. They are my great grandparents.

RE: Hillside Cemetery, Eastport
I sent Frances a copy of your original message, so at least one of us should hear back from her!

I'm scratching my head on this one. I know that they are VERY picky at city hall as to giving out information to anyone unless it's a relative walking in the door.
If you are on Facebook, find genealogist Pam Beveridge who lives in Portland but is from Eastport.
A wonderful genealogist who is no spring chicken but is also on Facebook is Frances Morrison Raye who has lots of records and loves to solve mysteries. Let me know how you make out. Susan

Thank you for catching one more example of another senior moment. You are so right and I have made an effort now to correct this error.

Let me know if you see anything else that needs my attention. Now its time to pack .. I need to get out of this cold Michigan weather and spend a little time in sunny Florida if I hope to make it to spring without going stir crazy.

RE: Benjamin Kelly
I hope I already responded but in case I didn't, I'm assuming that the cemetery office gave me the same location for Benjamin. It was a few years ago but I'm usually very thorough with that sort of thing.
