We Are Family
Yes, we are Kellogg cousins. This Wynot Cemetery has been such a big job. It was originally started when another cemetery flooded. Headstones and bodies were lost. So what could be found was moved up here on the hill. So some lots are headstones with no bodies and some are bodies with no headstones.
Then there was a mess with the records. Then the high winds took headstones and fences. So slowly but surely, we have been working at this. The fence is new, most of the headstones repaired, trees and stumps removed and a new flag pole and center was done this year. Now the grounds look really good.
So now we are digging deep into the records. Specifically trying to identify where we need headstones, as the records show burials but no markers. We know we will need funding to buy markers once we identify who is where. Fundraising is another big job.
All of this is, of course, done on volunteer labor. None of us are really great photographers. I noticed you had taken photos here, so if in anyway you would consider photographing these stones for find a grave that would help tremendously.
As this is a Pioneer Cemetery, there is very little family left living here to claim these memorials. So once the memorials are up to date with the information we have, which can be very little, then we will need to try to research who these people were. I am hoping researchers will find them and claim them to their histories but frankly am expecting many will never be found. Especially the babies that were never named and the families moved on.

RE: Photos
I know you have and did amazing work but you haven't given permission to transfer those photos to find a grave. I wouldn't take them without that!

You know it is going to be a beautiful week-end and the Wynot Cemetery is mostly not photographed yet..... And you do such a good job....Be sure to take the St James turn around to Wynot as the bridge is still out. Wiseman Children
Could you please add your photos of the Wiseman marker to each of the memorials of the five children massacred? I see it on Loren's but it would be nice to have it for each of them. Thank you!

Lindahl & Hannah Olson graves
I just want to reach out and thank you for taking the time to take these pictures!!! My grandmother would be daughter to Hannah and granddaughter to the Lindahls. Hannah died when my grandma was probably 2 years old. She was adopted and till I joined Ancestry I did not know her actual birth name. It was just something that was not talked about!! But the individuals that rest there are a part of how I came to be! Again Thank you, thank you! Have a great and safe 4th - Debbi

RE: Knoxville Cemetery
Hi Brad. I got that name from her death certificate. Since I don't live out that way I made an assumption. Suggestions?
