Bio Photo We have noticed that some people load photographs on Find-A-Grave and post a message saying they are not to be used without permission. PLEASE use the photos we submit if you'd like! That's why we put them on here!!

This whole thing got started with her making a comment that she knew nothing about her family. It has now gotten TOTALLY out of hand!! We have now surveyed every accessable cemetery in Harrison and Mercer County, Missouri and researched those that are not accessable. Now we're starting to photograph them. We have submitted the surveys and photographs to the county GenWeb sites.

We enjoy tracing the "roots" and various limbs of our family trees, and are often surprised at the nuts that fall out! She seems to be related to EVERYONE. Him...not so much. We also enjoy helping others in their search! So if you have connections in either of these counties and have requests for cemetery photographs or obituaries, please let us know. We're not professionals, but we're not too bad at it!!

If we "manage" a memorial you are interested in or are related to, we'd be more than happy to transfer it to you! The exception would be if it were one of our own close relatives, then we'll probably decline the request.

Have fun!!!

Decatur County Journal

Leon, Iowa

Thursday, February 26, 1885

Died - In Morgan Township, Decatur Co., IA., Mrs. HANNAH THOMAS, Friday

evening, February 6th, 1885. Mrs. THOMAS was born in Columbiana County,

Ohio, June 14th, 1812. She was married to SAMUEL THOMAS March 6th, 1834.

They resided with the exception of about three years in Columbiana County,

until the year 1870. In April they, with their family came to this county,

where she has lived until her death. Their family consisted of five girls

and one boy, of which two girls died in this county and one in Ohio, the

remaining children still residing in this county. In the year 1880 Mrs.

THOMAS had a stroke of paralysis from which she never fully recovered, and

about last July the dropsy set in, but during the last year or two of her

life she suffered a great deal, therefore needing constant care and

attention, which was freely bestowed by her husband and daughter and other

members of the family. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Elmore of

Missouri, at the residence of the deceased. She was a member of the M.E.

Church for the last ten or twelve years.

Thank you!
Phil & Kathi,
Thank you for your work on the Burgin Cemetery located north of Brooklyn, MO. I grew up in Brooklyn & my parents still live there. I was just there this last week and we were discussing this old cemetery and if I could find out more about it since we never really knew anything, and once again, I am not disappointed with this site and the hard work of people like you! So again, thank you for documenting this location! I'm so glad to also know that someone is FINALLY taking care of the place as it set covered in brush & weeds for many years, and since it was on private property we were never able to do anything with it either.

Thank you for the wonderful headstone photo that you added to the memorial for Walter Jonas Webb. It looks like the headstone has been broken so I am glad that we have been able to add this information to his memorial. I really appreciate all of your help.
