Bio and Links
Bio Photo I hope that my entries aid you in finding your family! My PRIMARY INTENT is to get the information up from the stones & records for those that haven't found the burial spots of their loved ones and to preserve information from these stones. Please note, many are put up from cemetery is. I'm aware that there are many errors in these records, but I rarely make assumptions as to proper spelling, etc. with the exception of death month which is often based on interment date. Generally speaking, I do not research each memorial.

Any photos I have posted are gifts - free for family or friends to use as you please for non-commercial purposes. I have also assumed responsibility for many memorials from inactive/deceased contributors so just because they've been transferred to me doesn't mean they are my relatives. I would be happy to transfer any of your relative's memorials I have created that are unrelated to me. I'd prefer they be with someone in their family or someone with a connection to complete a more fitting memorial!

I'm human, I make mistakes. If you find some, please use the edit button on the memorial to advise me. Kindness & patience are virtues - I am not retired and have young children, but will address emails as soon as I can. ***I cannot guarantee edits sent to me. I accept edits as long as it doesn't change information at which time I try to confirm the information before accepting.

A special THANK YOU to those who visit my parents. I TRULY appreciate it - it means the world to me! I miss them very much. They were great parents & friends!:

✿✿~~ My beloved Parents:
My father & my hero James Robert Hoffman and my beautiful, wonderful mother Alice 'Elaine' (Cain) Hoffman~~✿✿

After 35+ years of research, I finally found:

My GG-Grandfather Gustave "Gus" Werner in May of 2012 as well as his twin baby girls and 2 more of his baby granddaughters. (thanks to FindAGrave & J F-B)

My GGG-Grandparents Joseph Newby and his wife Letitia Hastie (Dark) Newby in August of 2012 (good old fashioned research).

Another GG-Grandfather William Lewis Horn found March 6, 2013 going through old funeral home records. Cemetery records were destroyed for June 1, 1914 to October, 1920. He died June 15, 1914. Go figure! :)

My GG-Grandmother Jessie Fremont Lane Nelson in January of 2014. (thanks to a FindAGrave friend Mixmastermom)
My Family Ties:
Hoffman, Cain, Willy, Fischer, Werner, Horn, Newby, Schuyler, VanVechten, TenBroeck, Roosevelt, Bush, Frawley, Nelson, Hannagan, Lane, McCormick, Sassenrath
~ My FaG Projects: ~
I'm currently working on photographing & documenting burials in (primarily) 4 Wyandotte County, KS cemeteries. ***Please note - Month is often interment month or death date may be interment date and "NOTE" is often funeral home/interment date. I am also going through old funeral home records in an effort to fill in some blanks in these old cemeteries.

*** Mount Hope - ALL memorials from cemetery records are posted.
*** Quindaro - ALL memorials from cemetery records are posted. (I used a spreadsheet on this one & many duplicates were not caught)
*** Woodlawn - ALL memorials from cemetery records are posted.
*** Oak Grove - About 98% of memorials are posted. Please note that many of the dates appear to be off a year. Be creative in your searches with spelling as well.

I also do some work in Memorial Park, Highland Park, Chapel Hill, St John's & Mt Calvary & anywhere else in the area that the wind blows me that day. :)
"There are two lasting bequests we can leave our children. One is roots. The other is wings." ~ Hodding Carter

"It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit." ~ Harry S Truman

"A Genealogist must have the patience of Job; the curiosity of a cat; the stubbornness of a mule; the eyesight of an eagle; be blessed with the luck of the Irish and have the ability and stamina of a camel to go long hours without food or drink." ~ The Herald, Vol.18, No. 3 & 4; 1995

"What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well." Unknown

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

RE: Otto Dingwerth
Thanks for asking. Otto is my fathers brother and so my uncle. There were 6 brothers and Otto was third and my father (Frank Christopher) was number 4.
Thank you for all of your hard work for Find a grave. I have been meaning to send in the information on my dad who is buried here in TEXAS in FT. Worth and this will spur me to "Get with it".
I would like to know your connection to Aunt Clara.

Clara Maude Wherrell
Clara is a second cousin, twice removed, so not my direct line. While I am always honored to maintain a page for a kinsman, I don't necessarily need her page transferred to me. I'm just always happy to see that she has a memorial page. Thank you for all your work and for your kind offer.

Thank you for letting me know about the duplicate memorial. I have deleted it. She is a family member and I would like to be able to manage her memorial.

Thanks again, Earlene

Robert F Laughlin #90269439
Hello, I put several edits on Robert's memorial He was my grandfather John Greer Laughlin Sr.'s brother. I recently received information that he was buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery. I had made him a findagrave memorial in New Hope Cemetery. So I deleted that incorrect memorial and added some information and photo's of him on your memorial which is correct.
I did notice that on his memorial is a photo of a gravestone of a Robert W. and emily Laughlin which should be removed if possible as it does not belong on Robert's memorial. Thank you.

RE: Oscar Weiss
Hello, I enjoy the hunting! Since you mentioned his daughter, I did a little searching. Betty Jane married Lt. David A. Miller in 1945, son of Lawrence Gale Miller(1887-1964) of Massachusetts, who was a lawyer and Irene. Lawrence was the son of Stuart/Stewart and Emilie Miller who lived in Cambridge for a long while. I couldn't find memorials or much on where they may be buried though. Also, some of Ruth's siblings are in section 6 of Wyuka Cemetery. I will try to get out there and see who is in the plot today. Found her sister Martha out in California, but not Ruth. Anyway, glad to be of assistance. I found Betty's wedding announcement in the paper. Can send you a picture if you like. Kevin.
