Bio

I work full time for the University of North Carolina, and I'm responsible for the accounting administration of several multi-year research contracts. I've wanted to finish my undergraduate degree for years but put the process on hold to raise my children. I enrolled in Ashford University last May to finally finish and I'm now half way to my Bachelor's in Psychology! Upon graduation I have a strong desire to work with children who have a mental illness diagnosis and their families. I hope to be finished with my master's and be working as a family advocate within the next 4 years. I am a single mom with two children, one who has special needs. In my free time I volunteer with the Family Advocacy Network (FAN), this site and my local church in way of helping the homeless. FAN is a local program of the Mental Health Association of America that is committed to helping families with mental illness live the best life possible. I love animals and my dogs are among the most spoiled in the country! I do pet sitting part time and often find myself in the position of being told about a stray. I "had" a personal goal this year to not acquire anything else in my household that eats and I am sorry to report that goal moved to the fail column a couple months ago.
