I have been researching family history for my daughter and also try to capture some of the older stones before they are illegible. One of the first cemeteries that got me hooked is the Quaker-Lapham Cemetery in Barry Co. I've been sending my pics to http://www.usgwtombstones.org/michigan/mitstable.htm but I will try to fill requests in my area if possible for find a grave. Some of my pics were lost in my computer recently (and I didn't really want to re-upload to another site anyways) but if I would have found this site first I probably would have done more with it.|
Some of my photos from another site were copied without my permission and posted at findagrave so I emailed f-a-g and they corrected it. If you would like to use my pics just give me credit and please send a message. Thanks

Thanks for following up so quickly on this! The transcriptions are very helpful. Strange that Adam's son, Samuel M. Fuhrmann, isn't buried nearby, but since it seems he died as a child, he may have had a small marker which had long since disintegrated? Guess that will remain a mystery. I have solved the other mystery: Adam's 2nd wife and Samuel's mother was born Catherine Kahler . She remarried twice after Adam died and is buried elsewhere in Barry. Thanks for all your help!

So, after further digging I was able to find a memorial for a "Margaret Foreman," who presumably was J. Adam Fuhrmann's first wife:
Find A Grave Memorial# 9025376
Burial: German Evangelical Cemetery in Barry County, Michigan.
However, J. Adam Fuhrmann remarried between 1869 and 1870 to a woman by the name of Catherine who was born in Germany about 1849. Any information you might be able to provide about her or their son, Samuel M., would be immensely appreciated. Thanks again for you work!

J. Adam Fuhrmann was my mother's great-great-grand uncle. The memorial says that he was the "husband of Margaret," but other records show that his wife's name was Catherine. I love the photo of his tombstone that you shared. Unfortunately, I am unable to decipher most of the words on it, though, and so am hoping you might be able to help provide me with further clues about his family life. Can you tell me if his wife's name is listed on the tombstone itself? Or if there is a neighboring tombstone for his wife or for his son, Samuel M Fuhrmann (born about 1873)?
Thank you so much for sharing this photo and for any help you can provide!

|margaret ||Rhoda Baker|
you took a photo of Rhoda Baker's tombstone, is there any other Smith's or Baker's buried around her? I am trying to find her husbands parents, William and Dolly Baker, and her parents Silas and Rhoda Smith, I am also trying to track down who has the cemetery records of this cemetery.
