I've always been fascinated with grave sites, visited cemeteries, made rubbings, took photos, etc. and must say that find-a-grave is an ideal site.

I've worked on family history projects for over 35 years and will for as long as I can. I'm more than happy to share family history with anyone interested.

The primary names I research are STROOPE, KEA, Pitts, Howton, Trammel, Hopper, Hale, Thetford, CARPER, BARTON, Lyon, Phipps, Griffith, Ellison, Shumate and many allied lines.

When I document a grave site, I try to include some information on the parents, siblings, marriage, etc. hoping this will help someone identify their relative. In some cases, when recording my line, or lines, I've created memorials for as much of the cemetery as I've had access to.

I'm not likely to post obits. I prefer to glean information from any I receive.

I'll be glad to transfer your family member to you. Always remember the FAG # for the memorial page and, of course, your FAG #. PLEASE do not send me a big list of names with no numbers included... thanks... I really liberal with transfers, would like to see family manage their ancestors.

If I have grave site information in error, please contact me so that corrections can be made.

Recent projects include:

--Gig Harbor and Haven of Rest Cemeteries, Gig Harbor, Pierce County, Washington

--JCC Smith Cemetery in Texas

--Knight of Pythias and Sunset Lane Memorial Park, Port Orchard, Kitsap County, Washington

--Lovington and Resthaven Cemeteries, Lovington, Lea County, New Mexico

--Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood, Pierce County, Washington

--Mount Calvary Cemetery (Santa Barbara Cemetery) , Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico

--Calvary, Old Pioneer and Tacoma Cemeteries, Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington

--Riverside Cemetery in Vassar, Tuscola County, Michigan

Mary Moseley Stroope
Hi Kathy: I have come across a Family Bible Record with names and dates for Mary C.(not Lavinia as previously believed)Mollie Moseley who married your Wm Stroope. Her parents are not who were previously believed to be by my father and so I have corrected this on her Find A Grave site. I am relieved to have this cleared up as I do not like having unproven info out there! Her siblings are also different. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Thanks, Martha Messer Barker

Jacob Haas Hisey
Jacob Hisey was not Jacob Haas Hisey and is not buried in Loudon's Chapel Cemetery this information should be deleted as it is false. Jacob is buried on the Jacob Hisey Homestead on a bank near Indian Creek and his grave is aptly marked by a tombstone erected after his death in 1839. This is my 3 gr grandfather

Transfer of Theodore and Pat Ross 108628497 & 108628455

You just transferred management of their pages. Is that so I may update them and return to you as I am not related.

Usually when I create a non family member page, I will ultimately transfer them to Find A Grave for management

I will eventually do that with the Ross's pages unless you would want them back.

RE: Hurt Cemetery
Hi Kathy,
I'm sorry, but I honestly do not know. I was there last September and it was so totally overgrown, I could not begin to get in there. There are cinder block steps that lead up into the cemetery, and it was just totally blocked by briars. It was so bad, I had trouble even finding the steps. I have a cousin, Bob that used to mow the cemetery, until he was no longer physically able to do so, and no one has taken over the care of it. All of the photographs that I have of the cemetery were given to me by Bob. It looks like it used to be a beautiful place. Bob told me that there are many stone markers without names there. I will double check with Bob to see, if he has a photo, but I think he has given me everything he has.

Ellison in Dresden Cemetery
There is a Sarah L. (Boyle) Ellison, 1853-1888 wife of Joseph C. Ellison, 1850-1914 in plot 282 in Dresden Cemetery. Are you interested? I was going to photograph and post it for the BOYLE connection.

RE: Nurse transfers
I don't know why, I keep finding NURSE gravestones and markers and I'm not even looking for them. I'll transfer any more to you that I find. You might as well have them as me. And remember that the photographs are yours. You own them. You have copyright on them and may/can use them any way you want.

I have left repeated messages requesting you correct misinformation on my relatives graves.

I find it frustrating that someone publishes incorrect information, and when given correct information, an uncaring attempt at correction was mangled and still not right.

Future generations (including those of us apparently 'not born' according to your statements) depend on thoughtful, accurate documentation of their lineage.

Please correct your information on Eleanor and Elmo, or erase your deeply incorrect statements.

Information on family gravesites.
Hello Kathy,

I was surfing today and looked up my son's ancestors (ex spouse's) and I see unknown info. :(

I would like to fill in the blanks.

For Ole and Karrin Anderson, buried on Hartstine Island and their daughter Mathie, buried in Mt. View Cemetery, Lakewood, Both in Washington State. These are me ex's grandparents and her parents/grandparents. Makes me sad do see the relationships are lost so I'd like to give information. All of them dead, gone, and forgotten.
