I have been researching my family history since 1973. Find A Grave is a great resource. Surnames important to me: Harp, Hoagey, Swavely, Krause, Sheafer, Kline, Keeney, Irvin. Most of our family was in Pennsylvania.|
Oakland Cemetery has over 15,000 known interments. The Bureau County Genealogical Society has maps and caretaker records for this cemetery. The BCGS has very good information on all the cemeteries in the county.
I enjoy the search and challenge of finding the graves. Photo requests get my highest priority. When I go out to fulfill a photo request, I photograph all the markers in the family plot. The rules I follow; "Photograph the grave/gravesite "in-situ", or as it appears in that moment in time. The purpose is to show the grave as it is, be it dirty, cluttered, broken, or pristine. It is not your job to clean it, clear it, fix it, or decorate it. The graves are not yours to do as you please. Remember, one person's "good deed" just might be another person's vandalism. Go take lots of photos...but do it like an anthropologist and do not disturb the grave site. -AJ" Mar. 10, 2013
When time permits, if a memorial does not exist I create one. I also search for some records to tie the people together and add a bio. I have a backlog of photos to create memorials. Each trip involves multiple cememteries and normally 300 to 500 photos.
If you would like to use my photos, please ask. I have recently experienced some issues with my photos being used inappropriately. I want to share, but I want to know who, what, where, how? the photos will be used. Transfers and edits, please use the EDIT tab.

You are correct. I had 5 pictures from Schuylkill Haven at the bottom of over 700 Oheb Zedek pictures. I just kept posting and didn't realize I had the wrong cemetery. I have deleted Jacob's and his wife's, Sarah, that I created. Also moved Israel & Rebecca to Schuylkill Haven.
|Elizabeth Fekete||Ottville Cemetery|
Hello. My name is Elizabeth and I am a direct descendant of Thomas Lunn and Charlotte Burchell, both buried in Ottville Cemetery. My sister and I were there yesterday, and sadly we found that a tree (maybe 2) fell on top of the graves of our grandparents and uncles. Were you aware of this? My sister is going to contact the authorities responsible for the cemetery and see if we can't get them to correct this mess. It was very sad. If you are related to the Lunns we would love to exchange info. If not would you be willing to transfer them to me? Thank you for your help. It is greatly appreciated. Elizabeth.

Thank you for memorializing my 2nd great-aunts, sisters of my great-grandfather, Olof Lars Ahlgren, (#43788827) who settled at Summerdale, Chautauqua County, NY. It was a thrill to find them so well cared for in findagrave after the challenge of finding them at all!
All were born at Andrarum, Skånelån or Kristianstad, Sweden, the children of Lars Nilsson Ahlgren 1811-1881, and Britta Andersdotter, 1810-1881.
Hanna / Hannah married Edward Anderson (#156339456) in Sweden and had three children there, Betty, b. May, 1875 but no further information found after the 1900 census; Andrew Edward, 1879-1973 (#156371732) and Nels, 1885-1934 (#156339419)and all are also your hard work.
Else / Elsie followed her older sister to Princeton in 1889 and married Nels Anderson, 1853-1946, there, in 1890; no known children. You already have them linked on findagrave.
Great work! I think Bureau County and that cemetery need a few more Andersons for you to keep straight (not!)

Hi, I would like to ask permission to use your headstone photos in my genealogy and post to my Ancestry.com tree. I am currently looking at Sarah Eastlick in the Walnut Cemetery 146589561. She is the first wife to my 3x great grandmother's brother.
Thank you, Keni

Please remove the photo of family headstone "Jackson" from Memorial # 36695684. The memorial was recently edited. (It initially had the incorrect last name of Jackson)
