We are a couple of old Retirees and are always |
looking for something to occupy our time.
We happend onto Find a Grave and got quite
interested. We are attempting to put as many
memorials from the Local Cemetery as we can.
We have worked with geneology quite a bit and this program seems to be right down our alley.
If anyone finds their relative that we have entered and would prefer to manage their own family just let us know and we will be glad to transfer them to any family member.
We do this to help others locate there loved ones and are glad to transfer any one that is not one of our family.
Anyone is welcome to use any photos that we have taken.
Dan & Barb

|Martin Burrell||Mary Louise [Lundell] Swanson|
Greetings, [This is a work of love. Please be careful with it. I will try to send another copy by another route to try and insure it's arrival. Please insert into her bio. Thank you. This represents 10 hours of labor]
Mary Swanson, Daughter of
Pioneers, Dies at Age 83
By Katherine Lindstrom
IONE - Mrs. Mary Louise Swanson, 83, and a long-time resident of Ione and a member of a prominent pioneer family, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 1967, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner following a lingering illness.
Born on May 14, 1884 at Bellota, San Joaquin, California, Mrs. Swanson was the twin daughter of Frank A. and Anna Louise Lundell. Her twin brother , Oscar Leander Lundell died at his home, in Ione, on February 14, 1964.
She came to Oregon by covered wagon with her parents, one sister, and five brothers, in the Fall of 1887. The family homesteaded in the Gooseberry area of Morrow county, where the children attended the rural school.
She was confirmed in 1898, at Valby Lutheran Church, in Gooseberry and has been an active member since.

Mr. and Mrs. Swanson homesteaded in the Morgan area and later moved to Ione, where he was manager of Farmers Elevator Co. and Morrow County Grain Growers.
Mrs. Swanson was chosen as Morrow County Mother of the Year, in 1959. With the exception of four years spent in Idaho, her entire life was lived in Morrow county.
She was an active and devoted church member, having dual membership in Valby Lutheran and the United Church of Christ, in Ione. She was a member of the first Congregational Church, in Ione and was a deaconess when the Ione Cooperative Church was formed by the merger of three local churches. After serving as deaconess for many years with the institution of the Ione United Church of Christ, she was elected an honorary deaconess which position she held at the time of her death.
Mrs. Swanson was a 50 year member of Bunchgrass Rebekah Lodge, No. 91 and was treasurer of that organization for the last 17 years. She had received the Degree of Chivalry, in the Rebekah Lodge. She was also a member of Locust Chapter, No. 119, Order of the Eastern Star, and had served as chaplain for several years.
Survivors include two sons, Garland L. of Ione and Norman E. of Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Elmo [Eleanor A.] McMillan of Salem and Mrs. Adon [Eva M.] Hamlett of Ione: one brother, Ernest Richard Lundell of Ione; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Thank you for accepting the edits for the memorial of Nellie Ritchie #35891866.
Is it possible that you would have access to her obit? It would be great to have it for my family tree.
I would be pleased if you would go to my Bio and visit my parents' memorials by clicking on their links.
Hi once again,
There are times when my computer doesn't cooperate with my fingers. Of course it is my computer's fault!
Calvin's father was my great, great, great, great grandfather (Lewis Ludwig Rinehart). We have a book of family history that begins with Lewis and Elizabeth Rinehart that is rich with information.
The book "Lewis and Elizabeth Rinehart and descendants, A Family History" states that Calvin was the 6th son of William E. and Elizabeth Martin. Alvin Rinehart was his twin which is why they are buried together. Six of William and Elizabeth's children died from measles and diphtheria in the summer of 1880.
I would be happy to take on the maintenance of Calvin 37540188 and Alvin 37540285.
Thank you for creating a memorial for these 2 little boys.

|Linda Simmons||Dan EllsworthSimmons|
Thank you for the memorial for Dan Simmons in the Olney Cemetery in Oregon. I just sent you an email in regard to his father Ralph Ellsworth Simmons, not realizing you are probably researching in a totally different area than the family members I was referencing 🙄
Of course, I'm still seeking help in finding those family graves in Wright, Webster counties in Missouri. Sorry to have bothered you. It's odd that death certificates often don't record where the body is to be buried, only the town.
Many thanks for your work!
|Natalie Woodall||James S. Brayton|
Hello! I am researching soldiers who served in the 147th Regiment NYSV, of whom James S. Brayton was one. Can you tell me what his stone says? I do not think this is a child's gravestone because of the clasped hands carved at the top. Is it possible the age is 42, not 12? When you were photographing his stone, did you happen to see a stone for his wife, Barbara? She applied for his pension in June 1889 but I know nothing else about her except that she apparently did not receive it. Any number of reasons is possible, but the most likely are she remarried or died. I will be most grateful for whatever you can tell me. Best wishes, Natalie J. Woodall, PhD
