Bio Photo I no longer make changes, additions, transfers from messages left on my contributor page. Please follow FindAGrave procedures by using the Edit tab on the memorial page to request changes, additions, request transfers, etc.

Thank you for following FindAGrave procedures.

Please ask permission before posting my personal family photographs, photographs I have taken of grave stones or biographical material I have written from my memorial pages on this site to or any other website or personal webpages.

I follow FindAGrave guidelines for transfers of memorials:

Second, Transfer requests will be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Please see FindAGrave Frequently Asked questions for more information:

How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed information and photos for my memorials.

Oh well. What do you suppose happened to the kid? The family lived in Providence from prior the Civil War until after he was born in Jan 1875

This URL will take you to an June 1, 1875 Rhode Island Census indicating the city of birth:

Also, the 1880 US Federal Census (when he was 5 years old) places the family in Providence, the city. The 1860 and 1870 US Federal Censuses place the family in Providence. Father George's Civil War Registration places him there in July 1863.

Alice Skillman Kennedy 37674254
Hello, I've found the below records indicating her middle initial is 'M' but I have not found any records indicating what the 'M' stands for. I got the name, "Middleton," from the LDS Ancestry tree file (link below). Her Mother's Maiden name is Middleton and two siblings have Middleton as a middle name, but I cannot confirm if it's Alice's.

Thank you for keeping me honest!

RE: Joseph Graves #55091275
Thank you for the additional information. I'll have to keep digging to see if Joseph is related.

Re: John G. Carr #121937703
You read my mind! I was looking for the name change as well. I needed proof other than my gig grandmother's 1870's book to prove the name change to Paul. Are we by chance related? I'm a Wooldridge descendent as you know.

Thank you so much!

Nancy Eleanor Thompson Cox
I don't know how or why you were able to dig up Nancy's obit in the Washington Newspaper. I looked long and hard for this and didn't find it. However, you cleared up a big family mystery and for that I thank you.

Elizabeth (Hill) Sleep knew these people and it was probably her cousin who gave his mother's birth date.

Another Frederick Leach
ONTARIO CO. has another murderer in jail. Frederick Leach, a prominent farmer of the town of Canadice, was shot dead by Frank Lamont last Thursday morning. Lamont worked for Leach, Leach discharged him and ordered him to leave. Lamont ran into the house and seizing a shot gun rushed out and fired
Directly at Leach, the shot taking effect in the left breast. The wounded man died instantly. May 9, 1890
