Dear Ancestor

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
In this field of green.
The name and date are chiseled out
For all the world to see.

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I'd exist,
You died long before I was born.

Yet we are of one, you and I,
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the life you lived
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Edward H. Nettleton
Hi, I was in an antique shop and saw a photo of
Harmon Nettleton in his army uniform (WWII). The store was in Texarkana. Not sure if this is the same person but if you are interested in the picture I can e-mail you a copy.

It sad that these old photos end up in antique stores.

Thank You! for putting that photo in Find A Grave! I have that also, but it was not identified. I think I have several other photos of the Farmer family. My grandfather was Thomas William Collins, Nannie's brother in Abilene. There is a baby's grave in the family plot in City Cemetery in Abilene "Infant of Alfred Farmer 1906" [buried 5 Apr 1906] Is this one of your lines? We might share info???

RE: Wallace and Marsh and Hayes Family
I have a few Owens in my family tree. I will check and see if they are from Morgan Co., Al. if so I will let you know. Most of my family lines in AL. is the Bush and Smith and Dunlap family. And there isn't much on them in AL. Janet Piearcy Collum

RE: g g g grandfather
Thanks Bill,

I'm sorry that I wasn't clear on how many greats. I just didn't have my math turned on. I was correct on the 3 greats. William's son, Isaac, his son another William( my great GF are buried in my home cemetery as well as my GF, William Taylor Spear and my father, James Harrison Spear. The cemetery is Spear's Chapel Cemetery in Cumberland County, KY.

Sometime around William Taylor's time the name was corrupted to Spear and I guess in showing possession to Spears by some. Guess I'm somewhere in the middle.

Isaac's Find A Grave Memorial# 45454372

Thanks again, Dale
