Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been doing genealogy for over 28 years (for myself and assisting others) and love doing so. I enjoy going out and gathering information and taking pictures at the local cemetery...pictures and information that I hope will benefit others in finding their ancestors. I hope my efforts will benefit those looking for their next of kin. If you are related to any of the folks I've posted information on and would like to have the site transferred, I'd be most happy to do so. Or add, or make any changes you would like made. Present project: Documenting all of the vets at the Denver Riverside Pioneer Cemetery and Documenting the headstones and occupants of Block 12 at the Denver Riverside Pioneer Cemetery. Much of what I have documented so far can be viewed at my website: www.block12riverside.com

If you have a picture and/or story to share about any of my Block 12 or Riverside Veteran individuals, please feel free to send them my way. I will add your information 'as is' to my website and to any of the postings I have made to Find A Grave. I believe memories should be shared, as after 3 generations, the individuals will be forgotten without those stories to tell.

Again, if you are related to any of these individuals and would like for me to transfer the site to you, I am most happy to do so. The 'counts' don't matter to me. What is important to me is being of service to you in assisting in finding those elusive ancestors and kin folk when all else seems not to exist in finding them. Ergo, I go with camera in hand ....

RE: John Bragg 46843763
Vickie, I would be happy too. I've been working on little things here and there over many years connecting family and their extended families. I'll see what I have.

New Diggings, WI
Forgot to mention that my mom was from this area and I went to college near there. But I now live in Northern California. Went to WI to visit relatives, took some pictures at Shawnee cemetery not knowing if they were relatives, and researched them when I got home. Now I am hopelessly addicted to this stuff!

Miners in CO and WI
Hi Vicki,
The connection is that Southwest Wisconsin is an area where the lead miners from England (Swaledale) came back in the early 1800's. Many settled in New Diggings (Shawnee Cemetery) and Benton, Wisconsin and started mining for lead. But when the Gold Rush hit, many headed West. Some ended up in California, but others went to Colorado to mine silver. So the families I am tracing came from England originally, and some are my ancestors, but others I just am curious about.

Thanks, Vicki, for your additions I submitted for various memorials. Like you, I am trying to help others find their ancestors. My "adopted" cemetery is Shawnee Cemetery in New Diggings, Wisconsin. The old stones from the English pioneers, many miners from Swaledale, England, have a story.

Maureen Finnegan
Hi Vickie,

I took a picture of Maureen Finnegan's headstone. I hope it is your cousin. The birth date is off by one year!

RE: Fred MacRae 142628820
Hi Vickie - I was able to identify Fred from censuses, and the fact that he is in the same cemetery block as his parents, otherwise, I don't have any special knowledge of him. - Bob

The memorial you mention above does not have any family links. Did you send me the right memorial number?

I don't even know what I sent. I've been working on so many people. What did I send?
