I've been interested in genealogy for many years and in researching have found myself in many different cemeteries and have fallen in love with them. They have so many stories to tell, some happy and some not so. And as the years pass and the old stones are getting more and more worn and hard to read I am so glad to know so many are trying to preserve them by taking photos and transcribing the stones and getting them up on findagrave. What a wonderful place this is with so many hard working contributors.|

William and Sallie Spurr Cobb Burgess had three children,George W., Lydia Ellen who married a Babb and my grandmother Mary Susan. Mary Susan was born June 18, 1854 and died October 25, 1894 in Casco, Maine. Mary Susan married Freeman Berry who died 7 Jan. 1887. She had two children that survived infancy, my father Ralph Hartford Berry born 1885 and Chester born 1887. Mary Susan was a very troubled woman and she died 24 Oct. 1894 and was buried in what was called at the time Pike's Corner Cemetery, now Green Grove, in an unmarked grave, as the Burgess family was very angry with her. Her death record is on file with the state of Maine The two boys were raised by the grandparents, Chester going to the Burgess family and my father going to the Berrys.

I believe we are second or third cousins. I think I may even be named after you! My father was Frank Morgan, grandfather Edward W Morgan and my grandmother was Bessie.
Nice work you do.

Find A Grave#137657667. Error in listed spouse. Spouse was Margaret H. Nason who died in Augusta, Maine on 29 Jan 1902, however, at this time I cannot find her place of burial to help with correction.

Thank you for transferring. I have linked the cenotaph memorials to the burial memorials and vice versa.
