Earl S Hoag
Hi there,
So fun to be able to do this with you. It's such a great hobby. I'm not sure how it happened, but Earl has 3 spouses listed right now.

E Louise Hoag (1898 - 2003)

I believe that the name above should be removed. Thanks for working so hard on so much of this. You have really done an outstanding job!

Love, your cousin

RE: Hoag family
Thanks Katy. I did have someone hack into my computer, I believe that they got in through my Facebook Account. Now I have been locked out of my own email because the person who hacked into my computer changed the password for my email account and now I have had to set up a new account, so I have changed it on my contributor page. What a mess!! I guess I will need to take more precautions with my computer from now on. -- Cathy

Hoag family
Hello!! I was in Fort Dodge going through one of the cemeteries and found an Alex and Ida Hoag. Is this any relation to your family? -- Cathy

RE: Buckner/Buchner Grave Problem
Yep, that's the house! I live about two blocks away from it (as well as the park). There, they spell it Buchner.

One of the things I noticed was that John's headstone spells it with an H, but the ones I could decipher next to his spell it with a K. There are other Buchners in the cemetery who spell it with an H, though. I photographed the ones I could find.... If you look under both spellings on Find A Grave, you'll find the photos I snapped.

I found your family tree on while I was searching for the name. I'm going to send you a message there so that we can exchange e-mail addresses (I must have deleted the original Find A Grave photo request with your e-mail address).

I'll let you know what the cemetery office has to say.

RE: Buckner/Buchner Grave Problem
Well, THIS is interesting!

With your information, I went to the Prairie Home database. With the death date you gave, it would appear that Isabel(la)is buried in the plot marked "JP Buckner."

Burial First Name J P
Burial Last Name Buckner
Date of Birth
Date of Death 12/12/1893
Date of Burial 12/15/1893
Deceased Place of Death
Section M
Block 28
Lot 1
Space 3

That plot is between John P Buchner (01/06/1832-03/30/1923) and Adeline Buckner (07/26/1840-03/05/1867).

However, from the way it looked, Delia was buried directly next to John, though with the headstones as buried as they are, I missed have missed one. As I mentioned, Delia isn't listed in the database at all.

I'll call the cemetery tomorrow and see what I can find out. I found her obituary and I can't imagine that she'd be buried anywhere but Prairie Home, but you never know.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the Buchners, but they were a BIG name around Waukesha. There's a Buchner Park and Buchner Court. (The Buchner House is beautiful. Sadly, it's been carved up into apartments.)

I'll let you know what I find.

Hoag family
Hello again. I just wanted to make sure that you got that email.

Also, I came across some more Hoag headstones in Graceland Cemetery. It's funny the way I just keep finding them when I am not looking for them.

I don't know if this is part of your family, but I found a Lola F. and William E Hoag on one lot. On another lot (not in the same area) I found a lot with a main stone that says Hoag. The smaller stones say: Elizabeth, Emma A., John H., Laura A, Lee S. and Myrta A. I have these all listed with pictures in case they are relation to you.

Thanks (I hope you aren't getting sick of hearing from me)!! -- Cathy

Message I just left
Sorry -- the article that I was talking to you about is regarding the death of Mrs. J.N. McLaury (not for J.N. McLaury).
