Interesting young picture of Jane. I worked with her at Main Packing Co., Houston, TX from 1976-1984. Also with her daughter Virginia Paz (1943-2005) and grandson Bobby.

May I ask how are you connected with Bruce C. Johnson (Schneider) # 35506881
|Jim Dugan||Mary J. Baker Quinn|
Thank you for adding her memorial to findagrave. Her husband was a brother of my great-grandmother.
|RLM||RE: Minnie (Reed) Ilfrey, Mem. #153993605|
Thanks very much for taking time to explain your declining to change Minnie (Reed) Ilfrey to Minnie (Reed) Tompkins Ilfrey, and for your conforming with Findagrave's rules.
I submitted the request knowing full well this might be the reply, but thought that since the Tompkins man Minnie married (as linked to) is the G-grandson of the 6th Vice President of the U.S. 1817-1825 (for the entirety of both James Madison's 2 terms) as well as having been the 4th Governor of New York, that an exception might be made in such a case.
Tompkins was only the 2nd V.P., besides John Adams, to serve 2 terms, and there would not be another for almost a century - until Woodrow Wilson's V.P. in 1913.
Family history like this seems especially important in cases where there are no male descendants, and very often female descendants' (see the 2 linked children) maiden name can get lost, causing their own descendants to lose track of their notable family history from their mother's side of the family.
Ah well - ironclad rules are rules, and we'll just have to deal with them, no exceptions allowed; I understand.
Keep on keeping on :)

My mother told me that Nellie thought that Davis sounded too Jewish so she altered the spelling. My grandfather Stephen a Davie was the only child that also used the Davies spellind as opposed to the Davis spelling

Glad to hear you and your family are okay. Still have everyone in my prayers though you all included. Would love to have some of the rain though. We still are in fire season. The fire hasn't got near us but close to the places we like to camp at. Respectfully your friend forever through eternity. firstname.lastname@example.org # 47230178

|Ginny Sharp||Meldrum Family|
Thank you SO MUCH for posting the information from the "Records on Interments" for Hollywood Cemetery in Houston. I can't tell you how long I've been searching for my MELDRUM ancestors.
You mention the plots for the 3 "children" (David J., Jennie and John H.) were paid for by their mother, Nancy Marie (Stark) Tompkins. Do you have any idea where she might be buried?
Thanks a million for all your work on FindAGrave.
