Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born 1946, Chandler OK; US Army, Vietnam, 1968-69; Ph.D. University of Kansas, 1976; current residence: Tokyo, Japan.

Author of two books of family history: "North of Deep Fork: An Oklahoma Farm Family in Hard Times," which deals with Lincoln County; and "The Fate of Bones: Adventures in Family History," which follows the Pound/Pounds family from Virginia in the mid-1600s to Oklahoma at the start of WWII. Available from Amazon.

I have just published a group of non-fiction stories about early-day killings in Lincoln Co. Oklahoma called "The Lonesome Death of Billie Grayson." It has just appeared (April 2016) and is available on Amazon.com or from links on the website below.

I run a Lincoln County Oklahoma website at http://oakgrove-pleasantridge.blogspot.jp. The Table of Contents for the new book is posted there. And I've made a new website for McCorkle Cemetery in Lincoln Co. because the FAG contributor who controls most of the sites there suffers from terminal inertia: http://mccorklecem.blogspot.jp/.

Right now, I am working on a book about the vanished village of Clematis, south of Davenport in Lincoln Co. It's not by chance that its rise and fall coincides with that of the Oklahoma Socialist Party.

You have a very interesting chain of reasoning, but...no facts. I've been led astray, sometimes for years, by coincidences presented as documented, connected fact by people I trust, only to have it shown false when the supporting documentation surfaces.

If you're willing to write a concise summary of your chain, noting what is documented, meaning you have the documents to show, and what is
your supposition, I am willing to include it in the bio.

But I am not willing to present a familial connection as fact, when it has not been shown to be such.

Wayne - not sure who might have had the stone placed. I walk the cemetery a lot (for exercise) and when I see a new stone or new request I try to get a pic of it. Maybe the Meeker City Hall can help - their number is 405-279-3321.

Wayne;

Thanks for your message. I don't think your Louisindia is related. I have the Federal census records for the Cross family from 1860-1910, and there is no one in their household with anything like that name during that period. The family had connections to Virginia and Missouri, but none that I am aware of in the Indian Territory.

I have transferred the Mother of your Uncle Ira Howser to your care. Fulscher was sent through the edit program so you will have to ask whomever sent it to me.
