Bio and Links
Bio Photo My genealogical journey began 6 years ago as I was moving my mother's clothes. I discovered an old newspaper article that substantiated an earlier finding I had made at my grandmother's house. The articles told a story of how my ancestors had come to Oklahoma from Florida over the historic Trail Of Tears and founded a small settlement called Brunertown. Since that time I have had a special affinity for African-Native American history. See and and on the freedman burial grounds/Bruner/Turkeycreek/Rentie's

Thanks so much for the photo. Do you happen to remember if it is located in the Belmont section?

Thanks for Anna and Ray's stone. She was the last of the family of eight for me to find of this new found "branch" of my family.

There is a note from the memorial contributor that she is buried in the Belmont Section and the stone faces east. I don't know if this helps.
