Hi, Jon,

Lt. Normand was my uncle (who died before I was born). I'm curious to know how we are related. My dad is Robert Leo Normand (Paul's brother). My mimere and pipere were Anna Josephine Lacroix Normand and Leo Noel Normand. Leo's parents were Emelie Bouffard and Auguste Normand.

Are any of these names familiar?

Hi,I used the obit from the West Springfield record.Working with the W.S. Veterans Office,I know you need to find all his military papers.I'm pretty sure that they will help you file the necessary paperwork to get a military headstone.I just finished a 2 yr. project to get the St. Thomas stones listed.I walked thru the cem. copying down info.I gave the veterans' info to Mike at W.S.Vets Office so to get a spreadsheet of all veterans burial places. The older generation that flagged is getting unable to do it and the younger generation doesn't know which ones to flag.I live in West Springfield so I would just walk down to St. Thomas Cem.I hope this info helps you. Also, please try to get a stone marker because at the cemeteries, they roll all mowing equipment over markers.
