I'm so happy you've found your relative! I had a little confusion over this one as the dates recorded in Find-a-grave were different from the stone, but I suspect you were wanting this confirmation. Maybe you already know you can request an edit/correction on their record. I'm glad I was able to find your stone. Some of the stones from a certain time period in the area are just disintegrated. I have a closer picture of just the inscription if you'd like it. Although that type of marble is beautiful it really is hard to read! I'll check to see if you have an email address on your profile.

Benjamin Allen Jones Mystery
Greetings!
I was searching on here today and found an entry you left for Skeeter Payne in 2013 concerning Benjamin Allen Jones. Just was wondering if you had any new information on him. He is my great great grandfather. My maternal grandmother was Minnie Louise Jones Pace, daughter of Wiley F Jones, who was a son of Benjamin A Jones. I too, have searched for information on Benjamin Jones to no avail. I found him on the 1850 & 1860 census but, nothing later. My first guess is that he died during the Civil War, especially since no grave has been found for him. His youngest child was born in 1862 according to my research. I have been contemplating a trip to visit the Bibb County courthouse to see if I can get any info on him. Let me know if you have any new info on this mystery man.
Thanks.

I'm glad I could help. Both markers had some winter dirt on them that wouldn't brush off. Ill keep an eye out for a time when I might be able to get a better shot of each. Weve had some heavy rain recently so they may be better. Sometimes I go out to clean headstones. I'll have water with me then to do the job.
