May I use the image of Robert Randolph Henry you posted on findagrave to illustrate a history of his regiment?

I'm sorry I forgot to tell you that Grace's last name is entered at Wyuka as "McBride Calfee".

Lillie Calfee
In the article I have its dated Dec. 23 (no year)

"This afternoon Eli McBride of Unadilla accidentally shot and killed his wife. He was handling his shot gun and it was discharged, the entire load entering her left side. She lived only a short time, but long enough for her father, Mr. Calfee, to reach Unadilla from Syracuse. Mrs. McBride had been married about 2 years. She was the only daughter of Mr. Calfee and leaves one child."

The child's name was Grace and in 1900 Census she was already living in Unadilla, with her grandparents, James F. and Alma J. (Brown) Calfee. She was 2 then and her last name was listed as Calfee. In 1910 she was living in Lincoln, again with them, but her last name is listed as McBride.

She is buried in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, Lancaster Co. Nebraska; b. 10-22-1897, d. 12-14-1914.

I'm thinking that Lillie was probably buried in the Unadilla Cemetery, as that's where James and Alma, and Lillie's brother and his wife are all buried there.

It could be Eli Wesley. In the 1900 Census it lists him as Eli W and he is living with his parents Charles & Mary J. McBride; lists him as a widower. Found Charles again in the 1920 Census, living in York County Nebraska, and says he is widowed, and he is the hired man for the Theodore Carroll family.

The closest I've come to finding Eli is an E.R. McBride in the 1910 Census, living in Jefferson, Fayette, Iowa. They were both born in 1877 in Indiana.

Thanks so much for your help. If you go to Grace's page, you'll see the photo of her I added - so sweet.

Thanks for your help.

Do you by chance know the name and dates on his daughter who was married to Eli McBride? His shotgun went off and killed her. I suspect she is buried in the Unadilla cemetery also, but have no proof.

Hello Judy,
I would love to have the photo of Amanda that you posted on Find A Grave. She is my Third Great Aunt. And I only have one picture of her and it is very scratched and its of her older years.
I appreciate your helping keep our family memories safe for out future generation.
Very Respectfully,
