Bio and Links
Bio Photo      I enter records here on Find A Grave for two reasons: First to help others find the graves of lost family members and second to remember our War Hero's who have "Given Their All" for our country!

When creating bio's for our war veterans I strive to make them as "accurate" as possible using all the records I can find for them.

A Delawarean by birth, A Soldier & Christian by choice, and a proud American patriot!

Neglected graves are a shameful thing!

Some think the reason I put a link to this page on bio’s that I worked on for the below soldiers & sailors is because I want to be noticed. “Not True”. I do it because I want to take responsibility for what I’ve written in case there are questions. Simple as that.

I've completed the following States displaying World War II Soldiers & Sailors who died during the war:

Delawareans Who Gave Their All - WW II

Mainers Who Gave Their All - WW II

Marylanders Who Gave Their All - WW II

New Hampshirites Who Gave Their All - WW II

Vermonters Who Gave Their All - WW II

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I'm currently working on Connecticut, the District Of Columbia and the State of New York:

Connecticuter's Who Gave Their All - WW II

District Of Columbia's Who Gave Their All - WW II

New Yorkers Who Gave Their All - WW II

If you'd like me to fix any of the records that I maintain ... please click on the "Edit" button on the top right of the record, click on "Suggest a Correction" ... Enter your note and/or correction and I'll fix them as quickly as possible.

When requesting a transfer use the edit tab on the memorial and follow the below from F-A-G.

From F-A-G

"Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made."

Also note from FAG rules:

"No photos of obituary's are allowed, No bio's in flower sections are allowed. The record added to the right cemetery first may stay and the burial unknown will be deleted regardless of the dates.

I'm currently working on updating and entered Soldiers and Sailors who "Gave Their All" during World War II. To see more on this project please click on my website below...

I originally started researching my Family Tree when my oldest son, Chris, came home from school one day and said that they had to write up their family tree as a project. This, of course, led me to many cemeteries and I quickly became interested in them also.

I've always enjoyed history and the two fell together.

Again, If I've created a record that someone needs deleted (since some families do not want their loved ones on the internet) or that you want me to update please let me know and I'll be glad to update it for you.

Darrah M. Pomeroy ~ Pleasant Hill Cemetery, ME
Hi, ☺

I live very close to these 3 cemeteries on this road and two of them are known as Pleasant Hill Cemetery, except maybe a few years ago someone finally changed one to Old Pleasant Hill Cemetery, to help with the confusion. I've been to the cemetery across the road, and Darrah is in fact buried there and I'll be adding pictures soon.

I was wondering if maybe you could transfer him to me to correct the burial situation. If you want to I'll transfer it right back to you if you want to be the maintainer of this memorial.

I have added an article regarding him that I received through our family and I added it to his memorial. If you think it not appropriate please feel free to remove it.

Hello Russ,

Not sure if I ever reply or not but thank you very much and for the recent update as well for my great uncle Joseph, Memorial# 56247843. I found out that he also has another memorial in Portsmouth NH at the family plot which I am actually planning on visiting tomorrow and take some photos of Memorial# 170773231.

Thanks again.

Barry Van Vleck Find a Grave
Hi Russ, My dad was Barry Van Vleck. Your name is listed as the one who did my dad's Find A Grave listing here on the website. Did you know my Dad? What made you want to do this for him? I think it is great that you did! I am just wondering how you and my dad, if at all, are connected.
Thanks for all you do here,
Marilee Van Vleck Rayome

RE: Bernard S Cohen
The Tzemach Zedak section of Hebrew Mt. Carmel has a very incomplete listing on findagrave. I know there are many more graves there. I should be over that way in a few weeks and will look.

Also, the section of Tzemach Zedak at Rosedale has been walked and photographed pretty completely.

Hi Russ,
It was very considerate of you to even ask about the picture. I have no problem with anyone sharing or using my photo's from Find A Grave as I hope that it keeps their memories and heritage alive. Feel free to use the photo and thanks again for even asking.
take care
Scott

Dominick Avanzato
Hi Russ I added an edit to Dominick as I believe the mother listed is a duplicate record with an incorrect death date. I ran into this memorial due to a photo request for the duplicate mother. I also in trying to research the family for verification, found a newspaper article about Dominick's death. I did not add it to the memorial yet as it indicates suicide and I wasn't sure you would want it there. Dominick is not family to me, I just wanted to help clarify the records so as owner of the memorial please let me know if you would like the newspaper article. I'm happy to share it. Thanks Margaret
