|Virginia Wilson Bailey||Bagwell|
There is a Theres J. Bagwell 1869-1897 buried in Ramah Cemetery. ??
|Virginia Wilson Bailey||RE: John Henry Wilson|
Foster, I am sure that John Henry Wilson from Gwinnett County,Georgia, St. Johns Co. Florida, Shelby County, Texas, San Augustine County, Texas and Silsbee, Hardin County, Texas is the same person. Looking at the date of birth for each child and his dates of marriage this fills in the time span. But, I will do more research on the Bagwells when I can.
|Virginia Wilson Bailey||John Henry Wilson|
Foster, John Henry Wilson was my grandfathers brother. I have recently worked with Scott Wilson from Florida. He is a grandson of John Henry Wilson. According to Scott, John and Annie McSwain Wilson moved to St. Johns, Florida and are shown in the 1900 Census there. They are shown with 3 children but, Scott states that they had 4 children when they moved from Gwinnett County, Georgia to Florida. John Henry's son by Annie is Scott's grandfather. John married Annie in 1894 in Gwinnett County, Georgia and had been married to her for 6 years in the 1900 Census in Florida. Scott states that John Henry Wilson disappeared from Florida between 1900 & 1910. He left Florida and went to Shelby County, Texas where his parents were. By 1910 John was married to Ella Faye Martin and was the father of 1 year old Martin Wilson. He had been married to Ella for 3 years. His first wife was left in Florida with their children. She later married and moved to Miami, Florida and she is buried in that area. -- Some of Scott's relatives are buried in Pellicer Cemetery in Hastings Florida. -- The Bagwells were friends to the Wilson family and one of John's brothers was married to a Bagwell. -- I have more information on this family and will go through my information when I can. I have traced John Henry from birth through death in Silsbee, Hardin County, Texas. He and Ella are buried in Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee. He and Ella stayed married until their death.
|Virginia Wilson Bailey||RE: Ransom Crockett Spurlock|
Foster, I have been tracing but haven't connected with them yet. I found a lot of photos and information. According to the article, Ransom Spurlock put this orginal ranch together. He was born in Dumas, Moore County, Texas, but his family came to the area in 1914. As a man, he bought ranches, eventually running upwards of "5,000 head of cattle from Holbrook clear to Sanders," According to his granddaughter Nancy Winn. Ransom was called "Rans". He is the son of Robert Archibald Spurlock and Elizabeth Pheobe Leverton. Archubald's Death Certificate states that his ranch was called Marsh Creek Ranch and was in Young, Arizona. He died of natural causes at age 75 years 11 months and 12 days. His father is listed as David Spurlock, Jr, and his mother was Mary Morris Estes. He is buried on Spurlock Ranch. In 1940 Ransom was 46 years old and lived in Navajo, Arizona. Listed in his household is: Ransom, Georganna, Frances, Betty Ann, Theodore "Ted" & Patrick "Pat" Spurlock. He had a brother, William Houston Spurlock b. Nov. 20, 1896 in Moore County, Arizona. He died July 9, 1942. William is buried in Young Cemetery in Young, Gila County, Arizona. David's grandfather, John Spurlock, was the first white settler in Prestonburg(Floyd County) in 1791.Ransom was President of Kechee Chapter of 325 Navajos on the Navajo Reservation. Ransom and Georganna Bushman married January 20, 1932 in Snowflake, Arizona and had 6 children. I have a lot more info. but, need time to put it together first. Take care!
|Virginia Wilson Bailey||Ransom Crockett Spurlock|
Foster, Do you know anything about this family or any connection to our Spurlock family? I found them in an article in Western Horseman.
Ransom was born in Texas and living in Navajo County, Arizona by 1914. He was born in 1893 and died in 1967. He and his wife Georganna Bushman were married Jan. 20, 1932 in Snowflake, Arizona. They ranched in the Pleasant Valley area. They are buried in Joseph City Cemetery, Navajo County, Arizona. His parents are: Robert Archibald Spurlock and Elizabeth Pheobe Leverton. His granddaughter Nancy and her husband Jerry Winn run this very large ranch which was divided and sold to them and one other relative.
|Octavio Chapa||Larry Chapa|
Hello Mr. Spurlock. I was just following up and wondering if any information was found on Larry Chapa son of Arcadio and Mary Spurlock. Arcadio's brother Procopio Jr. is still alive in Weslaco, Tx and is wondering what ever happened to him. Jr. doesnt have much longer in this world. I was hoping you may have found some info.
|Jr. McKay||RE: Ruth Cuny #7480282|
Thanks for the information. Since they both died and were once buried in Hempstead, TX, I feel we should leave a note in the Hempstead Cemetery indicating what has happened. This way, people in later years that may find them through death certificates will better understand what happened. I have done this for Ruth, and sent a message to the maintainer for her husband in the Hempstead Cemetery.
|Octavio Chapa||Chapa Family|
Hello Mr. Spurlock. I have researching my Chapa line. My grand father was Primitivo Chapa brother to Procopio Chapa who was the Father of Arcadio L. Chapa. I understand that Arcadio L. Chapa was raised by Claudio Lozano who was son to Sylvia Chapa Lozano who was sister to Primitivo and Procopio. My question to you is... Do you have any information on who Sylvia Lozano's husband was? I believe he left her a widow. Also what ever became of Arcadio's two children? Sylvia and Larry Lawerence Chapa? You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or text or call me at 956 463 4792.
