Bio

I consider myself a part-time, weekend, amateur genealogist who has picked up where others left off. I'm particularly interested in the following surnames & their derivations: DAVIS, LEGG, SEAMAN, HASTON, LETSCH, LEWIS, ELLIS, BLEDSOE, MEDEARIS, WEST, YOUNG, HYDER, DOWNS/DOWNING, HILL, ASHBY, BARNES, KIRKPATRICK, BIGGS, BETTS (or Bettis), BARBEE, LACY, LUCAS, LAMB, REYNOLDS. (The List is growing as I meet more cousins).

I believe a "story" provides a "reality" to each memorial. My intention is to connect to each memorial and through it to cousins; some I've met and some I haven't. By documenting certain events in a tale will change it a Biography not Historical Fiction.

Thanks to M. Pauline (Taylor) CASTILLO who has worked diligently on the John Hill descendants. Through Find-A-Grave on 18Sept2011 I found http://www.mindspring.com/~kellcin/index.htm and was able to make a connection that created a blood line back 11 generations. !!!

Many old photographs (circa 1920) will have a stamp on the back stating that the copyright of the photo belongs to Carl D. Newton of Fox Photo in San Antonio, Texas. Fox Photo is considered the largest mail order photofinishing business in the world during that era. {I will leave the discussion of ethics & legality of copyrighting another person's work as one's own to the attorneys & lawmakers.}

REM: Amy is photographed with her cousin, < a href="http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=54744273">Faye< /a>

I like to reply to messages left by cousins on my bio page, no matter how distance/removed/or even just related by marriage. Click on your Edit My Profile tab and under PREFERENCES makes sure you have a green check mark next to "Enable messages on my member page."
