Bio Photo Hello!
Welcome, Willkommen, ˇBienvenido!

I am a historian/history buff, collector of military antiques, and just one of a few family archivists and preservationists of our mutual family history. My education, training, and experiences have led me to a career working in the film industry as a Military & Historical Consultant for Film & Media. I find that this site allows me to use my obsessive detail oriented organizational skills to share our fascinating and amazing family history with other family members, friends, and the entire world, in a VERY respectful and honorable manner. We are mainly German, Irish, and Spanish (Spain), with a few other nations mixed in. So, some of our family documents are in foreign languages.

The majority of the memorials I manage are direct line family members. As such, I will likely find it hard to consider a transfer, as I consider this my sacred duty to manage their perpetual cyberspace memory. Besides, I likely have other family members in line to take responsibility for it, once it becomes time to pass it on. Nonetheless, feel free to email me with an explanation for your request, provide your member number, and your relationship to the transfer. As stated by so very many other contributors: Rudeness, harsh demands, and/or failure to follow these simple instructions will result in you being ignored.

FYI: When I manage other memorials, they are likely family friends, personal heroes, historical, or simply a deserving soul.

It is my sincere belief that:

"A man never truly dies, until he is forgotten"

Thus, it is my quest (that through this website and other such documentation methods), that the aforementioned will never occur under my watch, and that a lasting legacy of an individuals time on earth, will NEVER be forgotten!

If you find errors on any of my submitted items, please be so kind and let me know so I can correct those. Please stop by and pay a visit to my little girl, Ashley.

THANK YOU!
Jay

Robert Kilmer
I found Robert Kimmer'so headstone at the Park Cemetery in Garretsville, Ohio. I was just there buying another family member and did not have my phone on me. I will take a picture when the weather warms up. Can you tell me if you are a relation?

Grave Memorial# 127393315

There is an error in the listing for his first wife, my great grandmother. The name listed, Ella Martha Cook is incorrect, her name was Ismela Marta Lanfranco - who had previously been married to Samuel Cooke

RE: Setsuzo Ota
The records I see on Ancestry.com are a bit confusing. She may be his second wife, but there is also the possibility that her husband's name was Shiro Ota (they are buried in the same cemetery. She had several children and appears to have spent time in a relocation center during WWII. I'm not expert enough at Japanese names to know if Shiro would be another name for Lucy's second husband.

Gary W. Bandy request
# 173004844 Gary Bandy according to the Oak Hill Memorial Records show that his services were held at the cemetery but the urn with the ashes was taken home by family members.

Floyd Becker
Hello: In response to your question about Floyd Becker. He is not buried at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery. While you posted a photo of his temporary grave marker, keep in mind that approximately 60% of the War Dead from WW1 were repatriated back to the U.S.A. at request of the family (this happened in the early 1920s). Therefore, it appears that his remains may have been repatriated. Therefore, his burial entry should be deleted for the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery. Thank you.

Gaertner, Sgt Georg M, # 119351032
Dear Jay Lance,

Thank you for your recently submitted 'auto e/c' to enhance Sgt Gaertner's memorial with the original Germanic spelling of his surname with an 'unlauted a' instead of the Americanized 'ae' pairing.

I have included your kind enhancement in a special note at the bottom of his bio, as I am not clear how one queries FindAGrave with the 'umlauted a' spelling. Should this suffice, please consider deleting your suggestion so i won't have to kindly Decline your suggestion, or if you know how 'umlauted' surnames are searched by others not familiar with including 'umlauts' please advise me.

As Declined submittals are tracked in our statistics, and I have been Declined, only to find my data added into the memorial separately after my suggestion was received, I am particularly sensitive about this. On a related note, the reason I have not accepted, nor modified his middle initial to include the 'period' is that there is no proof that his middle initial of 'M' does not truly stand for a full middle name such as Manfred, Marcus, etc., whereas there are a folks whose true name is made up of only initials, i.e.: Dallas Police Officer J. D. Tippett, who was reportedly killed by Lee Harvey Oswald after the President Kennedy assassination.

Feel free to delete this public message should you see so fit to do.

I look forward to any further information you may kindly send me on these points, or any other.

Thank you for all your FindAGrave efforts and consideration of the above.

Always, in FindAGrave brotherhood,
e49

Dear Mr. Lance,
I would like to thank you for creating and maintaining my Great Great Grandmother's memorial page. I think we might both have some information on the Flentge family that we could share. I understand that it exceeds the guidelines. However, might you please consider a transfer?
May God Bless!
AJ
