Bio

My name is Vickie. I grew up in Swannanoa, N.C. and now I live in Asheville. I enjoy researching family history and walking through cemeteries to read stones. Everyone deserves to be remembered. Someone, somewhere loved them. If any of my memorials contain errors, or if you have information to add, please send me a message, email or an edit. All memorials are done with the utmost respect of those who have passed on and those of us left behind.

My email address is [email protected]

"God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So, he put His arms around you and whispered "Come to me" ~ Author Unknown

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you." -- A. A. Milne

"They lived and laughed and loved and left." -- James Joyce

"What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." -Helen Keller

"The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone".
– Harriet Beecher Stowe

"You LIVE as long as you are remembered." --Russian Proverbs

"It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived. Let's scatter the good things."--Helen Walton

"We're all just walking each other home." -Ram Dass

"Her wings are tattered and torn now. She has come to the end of her life. But it was a good life." From: A Bee's Diary.

Graveyards
When my soul is restless
And things seem out of line,
I visit an old graveyard
To take a mystical step back in time.
I find the oldest tombstones
Then read the messages there;
I consider what their days had been
And how our lives in ways compare.
We all have lived though heartaches
As well as episodes of fun;
Surviving loss of loved ones,
And rewarded for a job well done.
Sometimes if I'm very still
I can hear what they have to say
And feel them reaching out to me
Grateful for my momentary stay.
