John Thrasher
RE: Josephine Overby
Josephine's grandfather, Barton Thrasher reared his family in Clarke Co. although now the area is Oconee Co. He had a huge plantation as the Census and slave schedules show. The family graveyard where Jackson Thrasher (Josephine's father) grew up is near the graveyard. Jackson died just before the 1850 census, but all family records show that even though he married, he did not leave the area. See "Bishop, Georgia" by Celestea Gentry Sharp and Our Thrasher Heritage, by Dorothy S. Pruett. I don't any reason to believe that she was born elsewhere. THanks

RE: Wilson family of Greene Co. Ga. area
No memorial number. Just a genealogical question that I thought you might be able to help me with. Thanks. John

Wilson family of Greene Co. Ga. area
Is Martha who married William Brooks of Greene Co. Ga. a Wilson? Believe her sister is Matilda Wilson who married Rev. Jacob King. Martha d. 20 March 1873. Source:"Christian Index, p. 63, col. 5, 24 April 1873." Family legend says her maiden name was Wilson. Any proof?

Josephine V. THrasher
Hi Joe, Josephine's birth date is from the Barton & Frances Oates Thrasher Bible. A copy is recorded in the publication, Our Thrasher Heritage" by Dorothy S. Pruett 1986. The actual Bible belongs to my first cousin in Gainesville, Fl. I transcribed the Bible information for Pruett. It includes her father and brother as well. Josephine's birth date is listed as 9 September 1844.

Myrtle Ree Ramsey Board
Hello, I think that "Ree" was probably the child of "Maggie," Roscoe's first wife. In checking the dates, I tend to think this is more likely. Roscoe and Lucy married in 1908 and Ree was born in 1900. Here is her Find A Grave Memorial# 95645308. Thanks, Diane

Hi Joe,

Thank you for all the work you have done in this cemetery and others! I have deep roots in this area of GA and your work has greatly helped add to my family tree.

I wanted to let you know that I've completed a bio for William C Sanders, at least for now, and thought you might want to take a look. Many of the pallbearers & escorts mentioned in the obit have been linked back to some of your memorials. William's memorial # is 54912768. His wife, Rebecca Hulsey, is my cousin.

Best regards,
Debbie Hulsey Zouras

Charles F Harrison Westview Cemetery
Hi Joe,
I appreciate all of the edits/helpful info you sent me on my Westview burials recently.

About Charles F Harrison, I can see that the photo of the headstone says he died on July 1st, but his death certificate on the memorial page says he died on June 30th, plus the obituary was published in the Atlanta Constitution on June 30th. Also, the GA Death Index says he died on June 30th. Since I have three sources on the memorial page that contradicts the headstone, I'm going to have to guess that his headstone is inaccurate. What do you think?
Thank you.

RE: Sallie Rosencrance
Hi Joe,
On the Social Security Death Index, they have her born 15 Sept. 1878. I also looked her up at the link below, using her social security number (255-82-2638) and it also has her born 15 Sept 1878. I have screenshots of both if you want me to send them to you.

I will keep looking and see if I can find anything else.
Thanks so much Joe.

Duncan Cemetery, Breckinridge County, KY
Looking today at Duncan Cemetery listings. Noticed that Anne Pomeroy Duncan not listed. Wasn't she listed as being buried there in the past? Breckinridge County Cemetery Book has her listed as being there.
