**PLEASE DO NOT COPY ANY OF MY FAMILY PHOTOS/PORTRAITS THAT I HAVE PERSONALLY POSTED ON MY MEMORIALS WITHOUT OBTAINING MY PERMISSION FIRST. THANKS VERY MUCH!**
**Permission is granted for any gravestone photo. If I have given credit to someone who granted me permission to use the photo, please include their name when saving.**
ALSO WHEN YOU TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF A FIND A GRAVE MEMORIAL, PLEASE INCLUDE THE CONTRIBUTOR'S NAME! I have seen so many posted on ancestry.com with the contributor left off & "courtesy of findagrave". Remember findagrave did not do the research, the contributor did, please give them credit!!
Find A Grave rule states : "No scans of obituaries or newspaper articles." I am in the process of removing mine, but I wanted to add the following information on "public domain" for fellow genealogists...
Public domain rule in the U.S. as of 2017:
"In the United States, anything published on or before December 31, 1922 is considered to be in the Public Domain, which means that it is not protected under copyright, and no copyright permission is needed to copy, digitize, or use the publication in any way."

I have always enjoyed oral history at an early age. Wish I had asked more questions now... In 1994 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, went through surgery and chemo, I was given 3-6 years to live. So after I recovered from the treatments, in 1996 I decided to sell my home of 20 years and go on the road to research my family 1st-hand that were in my family files. I became a "fulltimeRVer" for six years; following the paths of my ancestors was a memorable experience and very humbling at times. I visited so many places I would never have visited otherwise... courthouses, libraries, cemeteries, meeting family and getting to actually stand on family land that my ancestors owned. Well, I am still here, I guess I still have ancestors to find and their stories to tell..... the oral history is out there, I just have to find the descendant that it was passed down to..
In addition to my family lines, I research Allen, Barren, Butler, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe and Warren Counties in KY. (South Central KY)

Does the GWT have archived articles/obituaries available for search locally? If so do you or know of someone who could do a search for me?
John Langdon Bybee b. 1810 or 1816 d. 24 Oct 1887 Barren County, buried Bybee Cemetery at Coral Hill.
We have not been able to conclude who his parents / siblings are. Thanks.
I may have asked you this before but are you a Bybee descendant? Just wondering because you have 30+ Bybee memorials.

Hey Laura, thank you for all of the work you do on here! I was wondering if you might still have a copy, or access to a copy, of the newspaper article you quoted on Find A Grave Memorial# 170657028 for Claiborne Forrest. He is my great-great-great-great grandpa and I am currently researching his branch of the family.

Hello, I received your edit requests. I have been out of the country and have not got a chance to look them over yet. Just wanted you to know I was not ignoring you (smile)

Hi. Are you aware of this: CLARKSVILLE — Stuart Emery was watching the news when he found out archaeologists are digging up the final resting place of his ancestors.
Emery, a Louisville resident, said it's the news he always dreaded hearing.
"It's a worst-case scenario," Emery said. "This is what I have been waiting to see, some encroachment that starts tearing into the graveyard." With development building up over the decades, he knew it was likely inevitable.
Excavations at the Stewart-Emery Cemetery are part of a Clarksville town project to widen Blackiston Mill Road. Because the cemetery is at the edge of the road, town officials must identify whether the work area contains any unmarked graves.
Records indicate the cemetery has 28 graves, according to Clarksville Town Manager Kevin Baity.
But Emery believes there are at least 65, based on his own research. If those numbers are correct, then some graves are unmarked. http://www.newsandtribune.com/news/clarksville-cemetery-excavation-worries-families-of-deceased/article_a27b8c12-5780-11e7-ab3a-cb79eb002d00.html

No problem. Just glad a platform like this one exists to connect people who care about these places. Glad you were able to make the connection and hope everything goes well. Best, Chris
